im gonna wait on pickin this title up, theres just to much out there right now. i just picked up marvel:ultimate alliance, gotta get justice league, mortal kombat, need for speed carbon, and ff12. not sure how well ima like ff12 tho. im not a big fan of the newer games. i thought that 7 and 8 were the worst ones made. im old school, i love the old snes ones. just started playing ff3/6 again on my snes.

i totally agree with u on the ff2/4. bought the gba version the day it came out. i still have my snes version to. hopefully the gba version of ff5 will be better than the ps1 version that came out. and i would so love to see a chrono trigger port to the gba or a new game entirely!!
something ive noticed about video game lately, is that they are getting longer and more drawn out. i just dont have the time or patience to play a game for 80 hours anymore.
im of the opinion that games are getting shorter, less gameplay more cinematics. if you ever played the ff2 or three on the snes and didnt use a game genie, then those games took 40-60 hours of game play, and longer if u got to level 99 and did all the sidequests and found all the items.

i also dont see what was to good about the characters for ff7. i mean sephiroth was an emo little mamas boy, cloud is a depressed goth kid, theres a black guy runnin around with a gun for an arm, and a stupid amish lookin chik who gets killed and the whole gaming community is upset about this. it's as if the idea of a main character gettin killed and not being able to bring them back is new. i've been playing ff games since the first one on the nes so part of what i dont like about that game is that it was too modernized. but this is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to there own just as well.

hehheh i like your character descriptions on ff7! sephiroth is awesome but he is a emo mama's boy crying about his jenova. but your right ff4 took me about 40 hours on GBA getting everything except character maxing and a few of Rydia's summons (like goblins etc). and i find that more enjoyable than sittin thru cinematic after cinematic. dont get me wrong i love the new ff's but i favor the old skool flavor a lot more! maybe thats why i threw down 50 bucks for FF anthology non greatest hits a few years ago!

i just bought the game today! its not tooooo bad but,...im a bit dissapointed....they really are making it more futuristic, not a bad thing, but i am still in love with FF7, its like todays world sorta, not with all those airships, but just like one :-p

FF12 isnt too bad though, and when will i see the hookah pipe!? ive played maybe 20 minutes of it if not 30....i hope i didnt miss it! (the movie scenes are crazy though lol damn)

Christ, you did some digging. I don't think a single person who posted on this thread is still an active member tongue.gif

I tried so hard to like FFXII, but in the end I have to admit that it isn't a good game. I love the story, but the gameplay is junk. The license board lets all your characters become gods with full plate armour, claymores and ultimate magical power. And the gambit removes all semblance of challenge that could have remained; by the halfway point, all you have to do is wiggle the analogue stick around and your characters kill everything (up to and including the final boss) without any further input.

VII and Tactics are still the best in my book. Edited by gaia.plateau

Ya I was just doin a search for some video game threads, can never have too much gaming. FFXII definately has the feel of a generic game. They don't really do much character development, and the lisense system almost feels to me like every character ends up becoming the same in the end. Unlike previous FF's where they have their own identities with their respective powers. I would still have to say FF3(6) and FF7 are my two favs.
