tangiers information

:? so first off I am new to the forum. I love the place. It is so helpful.
Now to me question. I have been smoking hookah for almost a year about 2 times a week. i have only used Al Waha because I'm broke and it's cheap and easy to come by here in the great Oklahoma City. My question is I have heard of Tangiers and a special Tangiers Bowl. What is the difference. Is it the way it is smoked or what, I'd love to try some in the very near future. Thanks for all the help.

Tangiers is considered an "Un Washed Tobacco" meaning that there is a higher nicotene level. Which is .5%....Washed tobacco such as Al Waha is at .05% so there is a significant difference in flavor and buzz....Tangiers is a little bit pricy for obvious reasons...Its a premium brand...there are several different flavors that are awesome...When you get some money, you should give it a try!

Al Waha is actually unwashed if I remember correctly.
Al Amir, however, is washed.

As for the topic of discussion, I used to be the same as you, smoking only al waha with a standard egyptian bowl, but since I've switched to Tangiers and the Tangiers Phunnel Bowl, I really don't want to go back. The flavor of the tobacco is excellent for all different kinds, it's easy to manage heat with, and with the phunnel bowl, your shisha lasts longer, and retains more flavor than with a standard egyptian bowl. I'd say save up some money, buy a nice amount of Tangiers and a phunnel bowl and you'll be a happy person.

First off, Al Waha is an unwashed brand.

Tangiers is considered a premium tobacco not for its price, but for how good it smokes. It last longer, and has stronger tastes then common shisha like Al Waha and Nakhla. Tangiers is made here in the USA in callifornia, by our ver own Sonthert. But tangiers isnt for everyone. Its a stronger tobacco, in more than just nicotine level. I still dont know what it is, but either the black molasses (which you can smell in almost every one of his flavours) or the flavourings he uses makes the tobacco, well best i can describe it, harder. As in it scratches some peoples throats, even without burning. Most mistake it for it being harsh because its being burnt, when its not. Its one of those things that some love it, others hate it. You just gotta get some and try it, could be your tobacco, might not be.

As for the bowl, he makes a normal style bowl, granted it looks a bit diffrent, and he also makes the Funnel bowl. Its one of those things that has gotten alot of hype, but i gotta say its for a good reason. Best way to describe it is to show a picture of it :D

Taken from HookahWiki

The way its designed it allows the tobacco to sit in its own natural juices, and hence it lasts longer since it stays wet. Ive had a 10hr smoke session off one bowl of al waha. Ive heard of longer from Eric (Tangiers, Aka Sonthert), but havent tried for that long yet :P It also helps with cleanup, since no juice running down. I personally love both of mine, but the ones i have are the large ones, and as such arent for the casual quick smokers. They take a rather large amount of tobacco, even well fluffed :P to fill it up.

There is a smaller one, and for now the only site that will be carrying them will be Minnesota hookah. Soon, very soon :D

Ok, my apologies if my facts were incorrect...As for Al Waha, I have heard several people (not including those in this forum) tell me that it was washed...But whatever, it doesnt really matter to me....And yes, Tangiers has a distinct flavor within all of his different flavors...But, this flavor is consistent and I have yet to put my finger on it as to what it is...I am still fairly new to the brand so, Im sure I will learn more in the future.
