King Mo
Using this funnel bowl that everyone has been talking about. Put in it some Kashmir peach (which I will review in the reviews section). I must say, initial impressions are quite fantastic. Very easy to use, and smooth smoke and all is well. The damn thing is about the size of my QT Shisha, but it sure is an interesting concept. I may just have to ditch my other bowls got one of those giant non-funnel bowls (i think it's a standard tangiers bowl) Will try that out over the next couple of days. King Mo endorses the funnel bowl. Thumbs up.
SanguineSolitude
kashmir peach has quite a distinctive tast doesnt it? very pleasant in my opinion.
Scalliwag
I love the Kashmir Peach too. Hopefully I will get my small funnel soon.
Caramellanne
Yeah when I first tried Kashmir Peach, I didn't really know what to think... I tried it the second time, and the smoke quality was great and all, but to be honest...I'm not a huge fan of floral flavors... I definately liked the juicy peach though...Good stuff..You definately wont see me smoking rose, jasmine or kashmir peach ever...
King Mo
kashmir peach has quite a distinctive tast doesnt it? very pleasant in my opinion.
It's very interesting, I will post a review tonight. Smoke and flavour was there in abundance, although it doesn't necessarily cater to my tastes. I am more a sweet man, with Shisha being a post-meal enjoyment with Tea. It tastes like Eastern incense sticks and certainly is an interesting experience. I bought the 'melon blend' too, so will try that within the next couple of days when I get time. In my reviews, even if I don't like something 'flavour-wise', I will still give it adequate respect if the quality is there and this did have quality. EDIT- As a side note, I didn't leave it to 'acclimate' for any extended period, although it is cold here, so I left it for a few mins to get to room temp. As the package was freezing. The smoke and flavour seemed of optimum quality regardless. I'm not a fan of leaving tobacco exposed to air.
King Mo
as a slight update, using 3 jap coals works much better than a single 3 kings disc. I think it was the member Erica who posted a diagram of this. Definately a huge difference.
SanguineSolitude
very true. no matter what kind of coal you use, it works better to use smaller pieces spread around the bowl. more smoke and more flavor.
xpimpitox
i gotta try this funnel bowl dammit! i wanna try some sinbad tobaccy so i may order one along with it at hookahkings. id prefer the smaller one tho since i know i wont be able to smoke long enough in one sitting to use all the shisha required to fill a funnel bowl :X

Fumare
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I use this at the lounge and customers love it. We call it the Infinite Bowl. Try Al-Fakher Double Apple. Amazing...everyone who hates Double Apple (Al-fakher) loves it in this bowl.
DizzyGuy
I don't see how the funnel bowl would make the double apple appeal to people who don't like it... but glad that you liked the bowl, Mo It def is a bigger bowl though, I'm hoping that the smaller version will work just as good as the larger version that everyone's talking about
azcoyote
I got a small and large phunnel and a few conventional tower bowls when I visited Odyssey about a month ago. All the bowls work very well. In fact I the only other bowl I ever use is an Egyptian with a flip open windscreen. It's great for an outside smoke. I like the "small" phunnel when I have a least one other person sharing the pipe. The large one is perfect for a table full of smokers. Unfortunately, I will need more local hookah buddies before that bowl gets a good workout. It's easily good for a four hour session.

bradfordr
Hey guys, two quick questions: Do you need to change the hole pattern in the foil when using the funnel bowl? And concerning jap coals; I've seen them pretty often around the forum, what do they do excactly and are they quicklights?
Erica
When I use the funnel bowl with anything but Tangiers I use this hole pattern: and Jap coals are not quick light, they actually take a few mintues to light up..... I just throw mine on a stove, electric or regular and let them sit there and cook while I set up and pack my bowl and what not.
DizzyGuy
The newest thing that I've learned about jap coals that I love is that you can take a little mini blow torch thing or something and light the smaller side that's black when you break the stick into forths... if you get it just barely started and sitting so the lit end is sticking straight up, it'll light itself in a few minutes Gives you time to go prep the hookah and all that jazz. Erica
haha I don't know how long it takes you to set up your hookah! But yes, you can do it that way, for me, the stove even takes too long to cook the coals, I personally think that when the coals are ingulfed in flames they light about 25% faster *shruggs* but I have never really tested it... lol

worr lord
Ordering a funnel bowl tonight along with some coals and tobacco, and my new MYA hookah towards the end of the week EDIT: I'll be using 3 Kings coals, should I break them into halves, like using 1 1/2 coals total spaced over the bowl (3 pieces)?
King Mo
Incidentally, I got a standard bowl as well. After using the funnel bowl, is it worth using the standard tangiers bowl or is it essentially quite similar? p.s., the hole pattern I used was simply a hole in the middle, and a good amount of holes around above the 'tobacco reservoir' section. I use pins for the holes, with the middle hole a little bit wider.
Sonthert
Standard Tangiers Bowls are essentially just very well made standard bowls...in exciting colors.
