another funnel bowl packing question

i've tried many ways to pack this and various hole patterns but i just cant get this to work properly, i dont get any harshness its just that the smoke is not thick. i'm looking for the optimal setup, if someone can post pictures that would be much appreciated..

I found through trial and error sorta...

Basically, you don't want to pack down the shisha like you do in a regular bowl, just let it fall in the ring evenly to just below the top. As far as hole pattern, I usually do one about the size of a pea over the funnel, then about 8-10 with a toothpick evenly around the ring. I've found that this bowl needs more heat to get it smokin' because its larger. I usually use 3 Japanese silver coals when normally I would use 2 on my small bowl.

Make sure tobacco is touching the sides and the phunnel well.


If there is too little tobacco, the foil will get sucked down, sealing or partially sealing the phunnel.
