Joseph
I put down some old carpeting over the carpet where my hookah stands. The coals fall all the time, but no real damage done
CaliforniaRose
The base protectors are handy, but my guess is a gust of wind would blow them over too. One came with my hookah, which I use but I've still had close calls of knocking it down with the protector.

I'm more concerned now, because I'm upgrading to a Mya, and don't really feel like shattering a nice base into 100 billion pieces
CaliforniaRose
Granted it might take a bigger gust of wind. At 5 bucks or so its worth taking onto your next order. The fact is hookahs are glass and can be easily knocked/blown over. The plastic protector adds friction, which makes it harder, but far from impossible to knock over. Maybe order a MYA acrylic, those are probably less likely to shatter then glass.
Bleeding_Heart1
you get those free usually with orders so i have one and needless to say, it doesnt do shit. excpt for protecting the bottom. it accually makes it less stable
worr lord
That's what I figured. I think I'll just put together a nice looking box, a refined version of what I'm using now...
PhatBeezie
My opinion is that your box will not let your hookah itself be knocked over but It would be more in the way for you to bump it or kick it with your foot on accedent, then the coal would still fall off and probably not all of it would land on the box , so what I am trying to say is I think it would make you knock coals over more often than you would without it and the whole reason you made it was becuase you burnt your carpet right ? Does anyone understand my logic or is it just my way of thinking ?
DizzyGuy
I have a small side table thing that I flip over and use that as a sturdy base... I"M gonna design a table to incorporate my hookah into soon though.

Burning a hole in the carpet just initiated my worrying I understand your logic, and to tell you the truth, I'm not too worried about it right now. The bowl I'm now using has a lid on it (like a clamping windscreen).
Macho555
Lmao, thats as ghetto as it gets dude, but I totally salute you!!! I think Phat is right though, I would probably kick the box everytime I walked by. I just bought a new base for my junior that keeps it from knocking over. I normally have my hookah on this little night stand, and I may just use a smaller box and do the same thing on top of the stand for the time being EDIT: Mind linking me to the base you bought? Erica
When my friend had a mini hookah I would put a cookie sheet down... Helped a little bit but yea.. we would just kick the cookie tray... really... The Mya acrylics hardly EVER tip over, the base is so wide that the foot holds the hookah up really well....... The only Idea that really makes sence is putting down a cheap rug.....
speel
While smoking my hookah, I got to thinking, "what kind of an idiot would you have to be to knock over your hookah?". Just as the thought passed through my mind, a breeze came through the open window, knocking my hookah over and burning a nice big hole in the carpet.
Ah i love the irony in that. MN Hookah
Someone posted a while back that they use a cheap $.99 outdoor "welcome" mat to put under their hookah. Personally, I've never had my hookah fall over, I guess I'm just lucky. And if you have cats I recommend getting small cactus plants, that's what I did when my cat kept jumping ontop of the cupboard, maybe after you're done smoking surround it with them

worr lord
That's a beautiful vase, I'll keep it in mind. For now I'm ordering a nice MYA with a large, somewhat triangular looking base. I figure it'll stand more sturdy, and if not, that Jezebel base would look amazing and take care of the tipping issue.
PhatBeezie
I have knocked over my hookahs alot on carpet and the base never breaks , Must have to kick it really hard or just have a fragile base for that to happen. But I agree with the big rug.
worr lord
Do you keep your hookah on a somewhat high table? When mine was knocked over, the base hit the table, and about half of the stem was able to hang off the table (so the base, and part of the stem hit the table, and the very top was able to hang off the edge). Basically, having a carpet under it wouldn't help a damn thing as far as breaking the base goes
