worr lord
Looks like an interesting way to use larger pieces of coal. I don't mind getting crispy tobacco out of my bowl, but I hate hate hate cleaning the 'juice' out of the underside/inside of
DizzyGuy
Haha, I had this discussion with ionadiss (sp?) when I first joined the forum. Malaka is greek for "wanker" but Malakas is Filipino for "strong". I'm a Filipino guy lol, although I am quite particular for Greek food.
I remember that discussion! Or atleast reading it! pavlakos
i just tried this method with no success...i did everything i saw, including lining the bowl with foil. i could only fit one coal one the bow and i even put my windcover on top...after 15 minutes of pulling and not even a wisp of smoke i decided to just take off the extra foil and the ring and redid everything the usual way...any tips? Erica
I mean, is the point of it so that you dont have to keep moving the coal?? Less heat managment? I don't get it.. I'll still try it though
crunchyorphan
i had trouble getting smoke the first time i tried it. I made my ring alot shorter and it fixed it. The thinner you make the ring, the hotter the the tobacco can get. (ie. the closer the coal is to the tobacco the more it burns) Instead of moving alot of little coals around i can just stick a big one on there and not worry about replacing it. Because the coal is alittle bit off the tobacco i find it burns perfectly. I'm blowing huge clouds of tasty SB Blackberry right now 8)

gumonshoe
Hmm thats a shit load of foil. DO you still have to tend to the coal? or can you pretty much leave it in the center? If thats the case, then this woudl be perfect for when i am playing computer games and dont have time to move the coal around.

When you use a big hot coal you have to make sure you have a taller ring so you dont burn the tobacco. You have to drag a little more aggressively but you barely have to tend the coal. entrailsgalore
I tried this method out twice today, and I have to say ir works pretty well. It give sthe same amount of smoke, but you spend lesss time moving coals around, the coal doesnt touch the shisha and the heat is concentrated at one point in the bowl, so it actually burns less of the shisha with the same amount of smoke making your bowls last longer. And you dont really have to worry about ash getting into your bowl. Its an interesting method, but it works.
