CaliforniaRose
So I did something dumb, I left my bowl and tray on my outdoor patio after a hookah smoking session, and it rained, it rained alot. So as I went to retrieve it my bowl was fine, but my tray had rusted a bit, not alot. My question is this, can I still use it? I know why rust in the stem is dangerous (luckily I brought that part inside).
Sayishere
Dont quote me on this but, if its just the tray, wouldnt it matter? Think it is still useable Better ask someone who knows more
xpimpitox
a little rust on the tray isnt anything major really. all your really doin is ashin the coals and placin them on there.
Macho555
It should be fine, if not a little ugly. Its not like youd be inhaling the rust. Hookah Shisha and Hookah Company sell new trays if you'd just like to get a new one.
Sayishere
Thought so, no rush in replacing it
CaliforniaRose
Awesome, I was afraid the rust might hurt the stem since its in the inside part of the tray as well.
ksblazer
Buy a tube of flitz it should remove the rust or at least most of it anyway. After seeing how much fliz costs. I think the next time you place an on line order get a new tray.
Sonthert
I'm not sure a rusted shank is that much of an issue, either. The tray, definitely not. Its not a bad question, though.
Lakemonster
Flitz is a good idea..... if you know someone with a bench grinder, a muslin wheel and some Jewelers Rouge... then you can buff it out that way too... Naval Jelly removes rust (use rubber gloves).. so would Bluing remover...
kitefanatic
SOS pads do a wonderful job of removing rust as well. Just be sure to wash, and thoroughly dry, immediately after.
Macho555
Whats this Flitz stuff, and where can I get it? I have a few areas of rust on my Junior (whereever the thing got scratched up) and they annoy the hell out of me...If it works well, I'll grab a bit of it. It's very good stuff. You should be able to find it at a hardware store like Lowes or Home Depot. Like kitefanatic mentioned you might even want to try a SOS pad, I bet it would work as well.
