DL15
heyy whats up everyone. So i've been smoking shisha a few times a week for a while now, but recently, i have been having trouble with the taste of the shisha. Today, i was using havana rasberry and it does taste good but to me its never a very overwhelming taste. I know it could be me but there are other flavors that stand out to me so i know my taste buds are working haha. When i use 3 kings, it always seems like i can taste the flavor but also the coal, there is some kind of weird aftertaste or something that definitely taste like coal. i've been thinking about switching to natural coals because i have read on here that it is a much better smoking experience. I was wondering if was doing anything wrong for me taste the coal a little bit? i mean its not like i cannot inhale properly due to unproper heat, i can take big hits so i don't think its the coal management. I also own a social smoke oasis so i know the pipe is not bad at all. So does natural coal make that big of a diff? thanks for the replies in advance
Macho555
Well with a few times per week under your belt, are you sure you arent frying your taste buds? Some people are susceptible to that sort of thing, though its never really bothered me. Otherwise, it could just be a retarded flavor. Shisha brands for them ost part are hit and miss. Even almighty tangiers cant please everyone.
DL15
hmm the thing is my friends who don't regularly smoke shisha also say they don't taste much and the ones who do say there is a little coal undertone along with the flavor

Johnny_D
How do you pack the bowl? If you have packed it right up to the foil and there is much contact between the tobacco & the foil then this won't help? Try packing a little less and/or keeping the Foil tight over the bowl so there is no direct contact. Also how many coals do you use and how big is the bowl? Could be you need more heat to get the bowl going. Good Luck, JD
DL15
hey thanks for the replies guys. But yes i usually pack it a lil bit higher than the brim of the bowl. THis is a regular egyptian bowl that i use which i usually use 1 to 1.5 coals on there
Johnny_D
QUOTE (DL15)hey thanks for the replies guys. But yes i usually pack it a lil bit higher than the brim of the bowl. THis is a regular egyptian bowl that i use which i usually use 1 to 1.5 coals on there I'd pack a little less, drop it below the rim of the bowl. make sure the foil is tight over the surface of the bowl. Also might be worth investing in a bigger bowl. I ordered one from hookahshop.co.uk and it's significantly bigger and deeper than a standard so i pack more, but keep it below the surface of the bowl Click Here Good Luck! Sonthert
Weather will effect how the tobacco smokes, even if it doesn't have nicotine in. For instance. the temperature of the water in the jar and the pipe itself will effect how it smokes. Try easing off the charcoal, it may not need it.
