The problem is, you pay for a new tin each time...I might be in the minority, but I would rather pay less and make my own packaging arrangements. Like Pharaoh's, at least $2-3 is that plastic jar it comes in. Worse still, when you pay excise tax on stuff, you end up paying excise tax on the tub too.

What does everybody think? What do you like best for packagingI

What ever is cheapest honestly. You can always repackage the stuff and that's what alot of people do anyways.... Maybe sell decorative stuff seperately and only have to sell it once so it can be decorative and airtight, but reusable?

EDIT:
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a decorative jar or something with the brand name and brand flavor, and you basically jsut keep on refilling it. Erice, corner the market on this NOW! tongue.gif

I have to second the edit, i'd love to be able to choose between jars and plastic wrapped refils. That way I can buy a jar the first time, and keep refilling it.

I really like how you package it now. It's easier for me to store, easier for me to ship (Because more of it can fit in a smaller because, and it fits in flat rate envelopes). That's just my thoughts...I would say keeping the prices low is all that really matters to alot of people, because you can always find something to store it in.

I believe that the company says a lot about themselves when they decide how to package. If a company wraps it in countless little bags, such as Nakla or Al waha, this tells me here enjoy my product it will be fresh when you open it. Okay thats neat buy a zip loc bag and put your newly opened tobacco inside. Or if it comes in tub Havana, Al Amir, etc. That says here we want you to be able to put it in our neat decorative jar. NOW THE DOWN SIDE OF JARS IS THAT THEY ARE MADE OF PLASTIC SOME OF THEM LEAK AND SOME OF THEM EASILY BREAK. Personally I will buy either a buy it for the tobacco not so much the package.

I rather like the ghetto baggies that tangier comes in. I like the boxes, becasue they stack well, but really, its just one more obstacle to the little bag. I think everyone has their own little way of storing the tobacco anyway, so a container would just sort of be a moot point.

>_> Though, I would pay for a fancy container with an option of refilling it. :cough:

Making it is ok... but I personally would love to see something that has good dimensions so you can reach in and take out the tobacco easily, but not too shallow or deep. I also want one that is sturdy and airtight... and not as flimsy as gladware. If there was a place on the top where the flavor was already on it or you could write your own, that'dbe cool too.

Voted for 'whatever is cheapest' because it simply doesn't matter to me. As long as the tobacco won't go dry in a few days due to crappy packaging, then it really doesn't make a difference.

But I guess I should say my least favorite are the little 50gram boxes that are double-triple layered in cellophane. I always end up just throwing out the box and cellophane and transfering the tobacco to a ziplock baggy.

Here is what I think...

Some of you are saying that cheap is the way to go, yet you are going out and spending more money on Tupperware or whatever else you are keeping you tobacco in and probably spending the same amount of money as you would if you were to pay for expensive cans to begin with.

If I were to have a tobacco company I would sell fancy tins (Something like Starbuzz, but with a better seal) and have the option to refill them with tobacco (have the way Eric packages his tobacco for refills) Have the refills a few bucks cheaper (the cost of the tin) so that if people want to store it in their own containers they are able to do so or if you are like me, just buy the tins? So you have the best of both worlds… I know it would be more work and what not… but that’s just what I would do.. Happy customers, means money in my bank account?????

I love my Al Amir tubs because once they are empty, I can just reuse them in the future and the labels are really easy to peel off cleanly....I dont like them in just baggies because you are comprimising freshness or you are at danger for a ridiculous mess if the baggie busts open...Jars are sealed with a little, pull tab so that helps make it feel more secure as well as freshness....

Yeah, I hate when I forget to seal a bag perfectly, and then open it 2 weeks later only to find semi-dried out nasty tobacco.

Lately I've been wrapping my tobacco in saran wrap, in tin foil to hold it down, and that inside a plastic baggie
