Do different types of hookahs smoke very differently?

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I recently smoked hookah at my friends house, which he got from overseas. All I can say is wow... It smokes so amazing. We had Hookah Hookah tobacco (Pina Colada, Pineapple, and Lemonade) and let me tell you it was amazing. The smoke was like mist, it was very thick yet it was cool smoke, not harsh at all, like when you would breathe it out it was cool on your face, it was really nice. Also when you inhale the smoke you could taste the sweetness going in, it was the best hookah experience I have ever had. I believe the type of hookah he had (from the looks of it) was a syrian hookah. But wow, it was amazing, there was just water in the base as well, no ice. So my question is, was it the actual tobacco that caused it to be like that or was it the hookah? I have a Mya Acrylic and though it smokes well, it was nothing compared to that.

Different hookahs smoke differently. There are a lot of factors ranging from small things like packing the bowl and coal management, to the quality of the pipe and tobacco, to how much water is in the base.

You could use the same hookah twice and get different smokes.

there are so many factors that lead to good/bad experience. i personally dont think the hookah itself will make much of a difference so long as its got a propre seal. basically its just a big hose that runs through some water. yes, some have better flow that others, but that doesnt nessesarily equate to better smoke.

i would definately say that your tabacco and how you position it is more important than the hookah itself. i've been slowly learning that when it comes to tabacco, less is more. you are less liklely to burn the tabacco and more of it is used than if you pack it and the top is singed and the bottom is untouched.

Yeah...  You are so right.  Everytime I have packed a bowl all the way to the top, I always get that nasty coal aftertaste...  I learned when packing it less, you get so much more flavor.

well. you can still pack a lot, but what i have noticed is that if you pack just enough so the foil doesn't touch the tobacco, you get a much more flavorful and thick smoke session
