Gah Water in QT Hose

So yeah Ive noticed that when I smoke out of my QT I get a little bit of water in the hose. I blow out the hose and the gasket where the hose is connected to clear out some water but when I smoke it again a few times, it comes back again. Any idea whats going on and how I can fix it? I'm pretty sure I only have the stem submerged about an inch.

Water level can be tricky with certain types of hookahs. I had this problem with my Stargate. Just fill your QT with the lowest water level possible while still submerging the stem. Pretty much the only thing you can do. Go 1/2".

This is basically the only reason why you would ever get water into your hose. That is unless your hookah is malfunctioning for some odd reason. I'm getting my free QT hookah hopefuly in the next week or two. So when I do get it, I'll be able to give you first hand solutions

It's probably the water level like Yash said. I know pumpkins are a bitch in that regard, they always manage to get water somewhere in the hose. I guess you could be sucking too hard but...youd probably have to suck HARD. O_o

Well generally speaking, you should be able to suck as hard as you want and not get any water into the hose. But could be the case on poorly designed hookahs. The shape of the base plays a big part in how the water is going to bubble. If desinged poorly, the water will splash/bubble much higher than normal, causing you to get that water in the hose.

But you'd think with a QT, a few more people would have mentioned something about the water in hose problem, since the thing is so damn popular...

I'd say first, try and fill the water level the absolute lowest you can, and if that STILL doesn't work, then try not sucking so hard

I got water in my hose the first time i smoked from it, after that i havent had a problem. I fill the water up to about 3/4 inch below the part where it curves inwards.

You guys put water in your QTs??? Damn that's my problem. Just messing. I fill mine up about half full and it works like a charm. Not sure how much of the stem is submerged though.

Just smoked my QT for the first time... No water in the hose... I have a dark base so it's hard to see how much water you have, but you can look through the bottom of the base to get a good guestimate of how far submerged the stem is

What you want to do is put enough water to cover the down stem about a half inch.. just enough that it wont suck it air but at the same enough to keep a good suction. Also make sure you dry out your hose after you clean it otherwise it could just be leftover from there

Here's another thing to thing about... make a diffuser... that'll add some length to the stem and makeit not bubble as much so that should eleminate the water problem.

I just bought a Qt and found out tht you cant put milk in the base (this thickens up the smoke) becuase the milk bubbles and spills into the hose. Water worked fine though as long as you put in the right level. I tried milk again with my other mya and it worked fine

Gah...small amt. of water, still gets water in the hose. maybe it too much still. I'll figure out another time.
