Funky Bowl Questions?

I just ordered one of those from MN... I can't wait to see how it work. Some people on the forum have it and say that they can make it smoke good. It's all in heat management

I got a phunnel bowl but dang, it uses way to much tobacco. It can take almost a whole 50g box.

i have one of them, they are nice and easy to use, and i like the built in windcover, but its hard to manage the heat and move coals around if u close up the lid, because it gets so hot

if u find a way to get good thick tasty smoke outa this bowl, please clue me in, i cant get it going right

Cypher, there's a smaller size phunnel now too that doesn't take as much tobacco.

You don't have to close the lid the whole way.

I love this bowl, it is second to my large tangiers bowl.


Basically, put some coals on, and lower the lid (dont latch it).
When the bowl gets warmed up and making thick smoke, raise the lid. If it ever gets harsh, raise the lid.

looks like a gimmick to me.

i cut a popcan in half (kept the top part) as a wind screen. if its really windy, put a rock on top. works great.

That's why you use tongs

I hear those bowls work really well and keep all the heat nice and withing your bowl- on top of that a spill would be much less severe if the bowl is clamped down

I've had one for a few months now and it works great. It's a standard size eygyptian bowl with extra hardward. Calcartman has it exactly right in his post. The latch does get hot, and tongs don't work well for manipulating it. I use a piece of old denim like a potholder, and that works well. Now that I have the tangiers bowls, I don't use it as much, but it's still great when you only want to use a small amount of shisha. Coals seem to last longer too.
