worr lord
Sounds ghetto, but try hacking a LARGE beer can. I understand where you're coming from, I use a wind cover whether I'm inside or out
[LB]
use a large aluminum or tin can- whatever they use these days- and punch holes in it everywhere, then place it upside down on the bowl. Try and get one with the diameter that touches the dish properly, and stays well over the bowl- so it would probably have to be very tall and fairly wide. Macho555
I ALMOST have the same problem. My small phunnel lets the wind cover BARELY fit over it...I'm trying to find a taller one. I've seen them before, but I can't think where.
Sonthert
Like I posted, in a previous thread, get a large can and poke holes in it. What you will have is better than most of the commercially available windhoods.

azcoyote
Today I have finally worked up the courage to pack the large phunnel. It is huge. I had read several others post that every brand smokes smoother in the funnel. I had found that true for the smaller sibling, So my first go is with a flavor I sort of liked from my inexhaustable supply of AW. Arabic Coffee. It smoked a tad harsh in a standard bowl. To make thing interesting I laced the bottom of the bowl with a thin layer of Tangier's Mint. I wanted to see at what point the mint flavor would present itself. The packing was loose, but all the way up to the top of the phunnel. I started off with four medium chunks of smiley's coconut husk coals. I let them fininsh burning off their black exterior on the foil before I started pulling on the pipe. I could have started with more heat, but he pipe smokes really well with this new head. I covered the coals with a home made foil windscreen once they had cooled a bit. Smoke thickness instantly doubled! A hint of mint was evident after a surprisingly short time. Maybe five minutes. Twenty minutes into this, boith flavors are distinct and complimentary. And smoooth. Yes, this is the smoothest bowl of AW I have ever smoked. There is more sweetness to the coffee flavor, and the mint is a welcome cooler to the mix.
Johnny_D
I have been too much of a big girl's blouse to test this bad boy out yet. However Thanks for the Tips AZ JD
Captain Courageous
huh... reading all this stuff about the wind covers is interesting. With my last hookah that I ordered from online a wind cover came with it but I still have never used it... just planned on using it if I was ever outside. I was wondering, if anyone knows for sure, would useing a windcover actualy help with smoke thickness?
