Rolland coals - has anyone tried them-?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried these coals?

They are quick lite like 3 Kings, the boxes weigh the same (1.55 lb).

They burn the same (+/- 45 min) and smell the same.

The difference is that the 10 pc stacks are in a sealed foil "sleave" and the entire box is sealed in plastic - which would probably give them a longer shelf life.

Why do I ask? My partner and I can buy these for half the price of 3 kings!!

PS anyone know where these are made? Nothing on box, nothing on case.

There horrible. Give off a horrible smell when you light them and I noticed a slightly different taste when smoking them, slightly coal tasting. The wrapping is annoying to get off on each roll and they last roughly 30 mintues, at least for us. Plus, every time I've seem to have smoked from them, it seems like I've gotten sick. I say, go with the 3 Kings.

i really dont see the huge problem with these rolland coals...they light up quick...last long enough...and get the job done...didnt seem to taste all that bad and we never got sick from them...

but then again...i guess i havent tried any other coal besides some vivi natural crap that i couldnt really get lit...

the only problem is...the only place that sells those kinda things around here is at a cigar place and those are the only two brands they have...i have to drive like 20 miles just to get to a hookah place for some other coals...ill have to do that one of these days...or just pay for shipping...

and if i do go get others...should i get the japanese or the 3kings?? it seems like everybody likes the 3kings but they are almost 3 times as much at the site im looking at...

Hey Luxor,

We have used them in the past. They smoke ok, I couldnt tell a huge difference between them and the 3 Kings. Sites like Hookah-Shisha sell these at basically 3 Kings prices, and dont carry any other quicklights and many lounges use them just because its cheaper and we dont hear any complaints.

Hope this helps.wink.gif

Get both. See which ones you like better.

I have a box of them.
They work in a pinch, but you really have to make sure they've burned completely before you smoke off of them, or you'll taste chemicals.
