JoeLipinski
I just modded my social smoke hose to use clear tube I got from Lowes. Check it out.
Shavo989
Well, now you don't have to worry about the washable/not washable dillema other forum members face.
JoeLipinski
That is one of the main reasons why I did this... also the fact that I can see if I got the hose all the way clean.
DizzyGuy
Yeah, I had a vynal tube for a hose for awhile... i just wish that I would have taken teh hose tips off of my SS hose when I threw it away because it was damaged
JoeLipinski
The tubing for the hose mod only ended up only costing $0.98... not bad if I may say so.
EvansLight
damn this really makes me want to make a nice trip to lowes now XD
JoeLipinski
In case anyone else wants to try this, I bought the hose that costs $0.23 per foot, it was pretty hard trying to get it to fit the connector on the tips, but if you push hard enough, you'll get it in... lol sounds a little wrong but its true! azcoyote
If you warm the vinyl hose end in scalding water for a minute it wil slip right on.
Captain Courageous
you did a pretty quality job of making it fit into the ends also... good job, I love seeing all these creative things that our Forum members do with their hookahs here. Very cool.

JoeLipinski
The only thing I can tell you is that the size I used was $0.23 per foot at lowes in pittsburgh, pa. If I go back again I will update you. This size may vary per hose tips too, so you may just want to get your tip and try to match it with your tip. sorry I can't be more of help. hookah hippie
does the tube stay or do you have to put it on the connectors each time??
JoeLipinski
the tube stays.. I guess you could glue it on, but it is connected well enough that it takes some force to get it back off.
ASUSEAN1
I think I am going to try this with some of my older hoses I dont use anymore

Macho555
I made a hose like that from an old Mitsuba hose, but I ended up buying a new one anyway. I hated it, because it just wasnt supple enough, and I tipped the hookah over more than once.
Chip
very nice i think im going to have to give it a try. ive been thinking about making all of the hose wit the two ends as well on a lathe. i might have to give it a try after this turkey break and update you guys on how it turned out

JoeLipinski
I went to lowes today and I looked that hose that I used... it is a hose with 3/8 inside diameter. I forget the outside diameter. Hope this helps everyone
Zerodynamic
since I work in a hardware store it looks like the O.D. in 5/8 inches... but that is from what I can see.Good methods of making keeping the hold would be.. hrmm... a glue gun? I would also apply some red hot blue glue (its for pvc) to ensure no leakage.
