Hello...I just bought a bag of Rolland Charcoal fingers and was wondering how to light them? Lighter....stove, etc. and where do I light them...what part of the charcoal? (Bottom (circular part)) or elongated part?

stove. set them on it or buy a cheapo pot and heat it in there (dont use one you already have unless you never need to use it again)

*nods* I usualy turn the stove to 75% heat or so, then it only takes about 3 or 4 minutes to lite them completely. Once the coals are almost completely white go ahead and put 'em to good use.

Important note about pots... DON'T USE NON STICK POTS.

the thing that works the best for lighting finger coals are those things that you get from chemistry labs that you use wiht the bunson burners

So do you wait for one side to get white or the whole thing? And can I reuse the pot, and is there alot of smoke involved when lighting it?

You can either use the stove or a hot plate... if you don't feel like having coals on your stove then you can pick up a hot plate from target or wally-world for 10.00. Captain I found that if I have atleast 1 side of the coal all the way white then I can use it, and the other sides will cook and become white you smoke... never got any harsher or affected the taste... just as long as I made sure on side was white. good luck

For the coals i got from scally, i either use a gas stove, or a nice propane torch. I got a small acc-oxy torch at my house, that lights em faster than 15 seconds, i shite you not XD one of the good benzomatic torches will work well, they just run off propane. You can get them at places like Tractor supply company, home depot, lowes, etc.

The coal needs to be lite all the way through and needs to start getting a thin layer of ash on it. I find that makes sure that you dont get any added, and usually unwated flavours with your tobacco
