I've got some serious taste testing to do!

So far the only "Non-Double Apple" Apple flavors I have smoked
are Nakhla Apple, Nakhla Eskandaraini Apple, Al-Fakher GS Eskandaraini
Apple, Romman Apple, and Al-Amir Sour Apple.

Of all of those my favorite is Al-Fakher's GS Eskandaraini and
second place goes to Nakhla's Apple. Nakhla's doesnt have much of a
real apple taste to it, but theres somthing about the flavor I really
enjoy so I keep it on hand at all times.

I'm really dying to try some new apple flavors though. Mainly
HookaH HookaH Apple, Al-Fakher Apple, and Al-Amir Apple.
Unfortuantely it's going to be at least a month or more until I have
any income so it could be a while until I can taste somthing new

Personally,  and no offense to King Mo,  but I think AF Apple
tastes like a cross between bubblegum & banana.  The only
other Apple I liked other than Hookah-Hookah was Romman Apple.
Romman Apple has a tart taste to it which makes it nice.  AF Apple
is sweet with no tartness.

Sorry,  but I like my Apples tart

Okay,  maybe banana isn't the right description.  What it
probably reminds me more of is chewing gum,  like Wrigley's Juicy
Fruit.  It just doesn't grab me and keep me coming back for that
great flavor that you'd expect from an even half-way decent Apple
ma'assel.

I would say my next to last choice would be Romman Apple, and then
Hookah-Hookah Apple in 1rst place.  I really never much liked AF
GS Eskandarani, because it just doesn't, in my opinion, have that great
sour apple taste that you'd come to expect from a ma'assel that's
supposed to resemble Granny Smith Apples. Hookah-Hookah does.
And, yes, it HAS been improved
Nathalie,   Is your info from personal experience?  If so, does the package slip under the radar of Canada Customs?  I don't want to pay their ridiculous duties... Aside from that $9 sounds coolsville! Also, thanks for your comments re: Hookahhub's shippingPeace
I actually haven't yet ordered from them myself (just researched many stores to decide where I should order so I don't know if it would go through customs well...I think not paying duties is getting increasingly harder though unfortunately, especially now that the government has recently realized that there's tobacco in m'assel Impoort duties for tobacco don't dtend to be too bad though....for Ontario it's around 13 cents a gram which for me still ends up cheaper than buying crappy old Nakhla from alimited selection in stores here would be

.13$ per gram sounds like a raw deal to me.  My last order was
around 500 grams, that means I would've paid $65 CAD in duties on
products worth less than 25 USD.  The tax and duty structure seems
more geared toward cigarette and cigar imports.  At least for
cigars the duty structure is pegged to the value of the ciger, not its
weight.

To import 1000 grams, which isn't a massive order,
especially for the shipping concerned like myself, of Hookah-Hookah
tobacco from hookahhub to Ontario it would cost around $200.
You're probably paying 30 CAD locally for your shisha, still cheaper to
get it in T.O.

COST BREAKDOWN for 1000 grams of hookah-hookah tobacco from Hookahhub.com

36.90 USD for the product, that's 44.69 CAD according to the currency converter at XE.com.
plus 8% GST value, which equals 3.58 CAD
plus 11.1 cents per gram tobacco tax, equalling 111 CAD
plus Brokerage fees from Canada Post and UPS, 7 CAD and 6.90 USD (8.36 CAD)
GRAND TOTAL =  174.63 CAD, a 389% increase!!!

So we're still screwed , but now we're getting screwed by the gov't.

QED

But, at least Canadians can buy pipes and accessories from hookahhubwith little markup now, .  That's cool

gotta buy from the States I think, unless you can find a local shop
that carries ma'assel, even if you do find a local supplier our tobacco
taxes are much higher.  Socialized medicine drives the cost of bad
stuff like booze and smokes up, because they cost our heathcare system
millions of $ per year.

I suggest finding a supplier across the border and bringing it north yourself.

 • 2 weeks later...
this thread is a little long for my liking. may have to either sort it
out by posting just the scores for each flavour or something

perhaps there should be a 'user reviews' section.

anyways,

here's Romman Rose:

tobacco: standard romman tobacco as described many times. No difference here. Smells like rose water.

Smoke: very smooth and accurate to the flavour. ROSE WATER. yes, that's
what it tastes like ROSE WATER. Floral, bitter, and about as sweet as a
raw coffee bean.
Man, I hate this flavour, but I gotta hand it to them, it is accurate.

Overall: This is an accurate depiction of rose water, translated into smoke. It is smooth, and the taste is strong.
the only problem is that it is rose, I would hate it for any other brand, and this is no exception. Score?for me it's  -300 (or 8.5 if u like rose)
Thanks for writing a review on this. I was wondering if I should try Rommans, or Fakhers. By your review I dont think that I will buy this flavor.
as highpockets says, fakhers is also a good rose flavour.

the reason i hate rose so much, is because I absolutely cannot stand the taste. If you like the rose taste, then it's about an 8.5 But my minus 300 still applies lol.
they wouldn't make the flavour if people didn't buy it, but be warned it is most definately an aquired taste, and gettin a 250g would be potential suicide. Alway go 50g for a risky flavour like that.

King Mo, I don't think I saw a review of the fumari mint choc chip...did I miss something? am I an idiot?
I agree with you on all the common flavors we have smoked, except for the Fumari White Peach.  I am not sure what it tasted like "before" as I smoked it for the first time a few weeks ago but man I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE that flavor.  It's a great tarty almost-ripe Peach flavor and is one of my 3 most favorite smokes so far, up there with Fumari Watermelon and AF Cherry.
Have like 6 new flavors to try very soon, all the more reason I am glad I will have not smoked from this past Wed-next WEd, a full week break to prep for a lot of smoking in a short amount of time ;)

also Math, did you ever review the Cream Soda?
Mo, thanks for all the reviews once again. I just read this thread over again and it makes me even more excited to try my new flavors coming!
So far, my best smokes would be
#1 - Fumari Watermelon
#2 - AF Cherry
#3 tie - Fumari White Peach/AF Grape
#4(or 5/) - HH Pineapple.

Yah, it should be #5 after #3 if number #3 is a tie. ;)

I want to try watermelon. =o
