Phaking the Phunnel.

bottle cap is too big, i used a smaller cap, wrapped foil for the shape... wrapped in 2 layers and it held up its shape...

damn it works so well....

my bottle cap only works with my one fake phunnel and the large phunnel I have, awesome though, glad it works for you.

Fair enough, if you've read the other threads about the "mod" it works the same way. You would put the shisha AROUND the capso in my 2nd pic all the space around the fake mod would be filled with shisha. The coals would go on the outer ridgesand move them around. Which would heat the shisha and force the smoke down through the shisha, under the cap and down the one hole in the "phunnel"

so it keeps shisha from falling through the hole(s), keeps flavor in the bowl, keeps you from directly inhaling coal smoke too.

Let me know if this clears it up for you , everyone has to learn sometime

Well you can't give me credit for the fake phunnel idea, but you can give it to me for the foil and/or bottle cap fake mod idea lol. That's awesome bud, post a pic of your phunnel and mod when you get a chance I want to see.

Tried the phunnel idea today, pretty skeptical about it, but it works like a charm. LOTS more flavor, and a longer, still pleasant smoke.

kick ass man that's awesome to hear. the fake phunnels do work but I would recommend getting a small phunnel sometime to try for real, I've got a med and large one here now and they're awesome

well i bought a metal vortex bowl...wouldnt that be the same concept?it hasent arived along with my new hookah..but it seems to me that its the same general idea...but for someone haveing that idea was great...and if i had seen this earlyer i probly woulda tried it to.i currently have no smoke nor coals...so i cant try this untill after i get my shipment. im going to test out all 3 bowls (phake Phunnel/Regular bowl/Vortex) and see which one works..altho i can tell that its gana be a throw up between the phake and the vortex..i am one to experiment with diffrent things when it comes to hookah makeing.also with foil creations and im shure i can brainstorm something amazing but i havent had the time to sit down and fux with anything yet.i go for visual/quality so anything i come up with is gana be dank regardless..ill post pics n what not when i get around to creating something..

Please post pix, I haven't seen a metal vortex/ phunnel...let us know how the heat management differs from ceramic/glass

tried it today and it works awesome, defintly better smoke and flavor than an Egyptian bowl and the pulls alot easier cause the shish isnt sitting right on top of the holes. Buuut defiantly not as good as a tangiers, but defiantly an improvement :-)

Anyone have an idea on how to fake the vortex? I'm in a no smoking apartment right now so i can't try this yet but do you think taking the intial design of the phake phunnel and instead of cutting off the top puting holes in the side like the vortex would work or would the foil collapse. if anyone gives this a try let me knoe how it works.

try shaping the foil on a small tube of some sort then make the holes on the side using a small pen knife. but be sure to get the height of the hole right. when i do the phake phunnel, i shape the foil around a marker pen, then just cut the top off, works pretty well.

great idea and everything but its really complicated the way you said it i fiogured out how to make on two years ago and havent smoked without one yet.......what yo do is you take a large sheet of foil and then you put your pinky in the center and basically wrap the rest around your pinky then put it into the center of the bowl and push it in so the rest of the bowl folds down and molds into the bowl and then you stick the poking part of your tounges through the center hole through the top of the hole it works amazing and i think it seemed a little less complicated then the way you tried it but its all your preference and how its easier for you....and when i smoke out of it it never gets harsh (no exageration) and it uses less tobaccco and lasts a lot longer and the smoke is amazing
