MYA Case

Recommended Posts

Mine is falling apart as well. I think the glue they use on them is not very good. I thought about contacting my vendor that I purchased it through and asking them for a new case that wasn't falling apart. Then I figured, I could just fix it myself without the hassle of mailing it out. I still haven't glued it back, but I havent had to use it that much either. One of these days I'll get around to it.

I havent seen the cases alone on the MYA site but I'm sure they would sell them.

I have seen them on Tobacco Import for like +/- $30.00.

But as JD indicated above I to never use the case.

Try to epoxy it back together as long as it's broken anyway you may as well try.

Im trying to envision the problem..... anyone got a pic of this?

Are the plastic corner pieces seperating from the aluminum rails? I havent had mine that long to show wear........ I may run by Home Depot today and find some stuff to fix and prevent that from happening.... and take some pics and some how-to instructions.

OK after reading this thread and posting. I finally decided to get off my butt and glue my case back togather. My friend was generous enough to let me use his Gorilla glue as well smile.gif I started empty everything out and I find a screw? it goes to on the the divders on the inside. No big deal I figure. So I try glueing the inside first where each side is peeling off. It kinda stuck but not all the way so I put some more on. Then I added some glue to the plastic corners that attatch to the metal rails. Everything looked ok. So about a half hour later I place everything back inside nice and neat. But when I lift it up. It fell apart again  and now I notice the plastic peice that holds the metal rail togather is broken

This really sucks!! Why does MYA make such a durable hookah and such a POS case for it? Anyway I guess, I'll try to contact either Southsmoke or MYA themselves for this. I really want a decent case as I planned on using this hookah for all my travel trips as well.

If anyone has any advice let me know. I'll keep you all posted on what happens as well.

Update:

Just called Southsmoke and they notified me that since it's been a few months (I ordered it on 8/11/2006) that they cannot exchange out the case. But they will sell me a new one for their cost smile.gif when they get their shipment in. As Sonthert mentioned and looking at them, the case can't be to expensive. Hopefully this one will hold up a little longer.

We do have to keep in mind guys, in many cases people GIVE these things away. The last MYA I bought (a 23" bohemian), the shop I got it from just decided to throw one in for no extra cost. They rarely tack more than a few dollars on to the price of the pipe for one anyway- we shouldnt be expecting to get a high quality case for free/a few bucks.

I WOULD be willing to pay for a high quality case, however.
