how to lower teh heat on quicklight coals

ok so for some reason these coals work AMAZINGLY on nakla

once i switch to al wala, like 2 hours ago, it gets harsh?

im guissing cuz its more juice and the coal is too hot,

how can i lower the temp of teh coal?

some folks break their quicklites in halves, so they can use 1 1/2 for situations where 2 is too hot, or 1/2 when they need lower heat, like with Tangiers.
Otherwise, its a free burning reaction. not much you can do to cool the coals themselves down.

Try putting the coal on the edge of the bowl, instead of in the middle. You can control the heat a little bit by controlling how much of the coal is on the bowl and how much is hanging off.

Also the amount of holes you put in the foil plays a part.

More holes out to the edges means more cooler air mixed with the hot.

Fewer holes just under the coal, more heat concentrated on the tobacco.

Try a few changes, you'll get the correct combo eventually.

I would just do as mushy said and use smaller coal pieces, so you could mix and match your heat needs.

i heard that if you pour water on the coal it lowers the temperature significantly...

break the coals in half (after you light them and they are grayish-black it's a lot easier to break them up) and put more holes around the edge

Yeah, try to put it on the corner of the bowl, and when the tobacco starts getting harsh, push it to the other side of the bowl. Also you can try to use two foils

another trick is to use two layers of foil, or heavy duty foil, but its only a marginal effect
