Vinson
So uhh... anyone know why all I can seem to blow out is thin grey smoke? I'm using sultan squares, tangiers shisha, mya bohemian. Not sure what the deal is...
Yonatan
wow, this could be happening for a bunch of reasons and ill go over some common ones: 1) remember, the smaller amount of space you leave for the smoke itself in a smoke chamber means thicker smoke. try filling up a little higher then normal and see if your smoke thickens. 2) bad heat management - usually the smoke is thin and gray when the tobacco isn't being heated enough. check to see if your coals are hot (sometimes they light up and just don't work afterwards). 2a) if they are giving off sufficient heat, try adding more coals. 2b) if they are not giving off heat (bad batch) you need some new coals. 3) if you've been smoking the same bowl for a while, the tobacco might be burned, and while, for now at least, you can't feel a difference in taste -- the burnt tobacco has no glycerin left in it and hence it cant give off proper smoke. 4) this is a kind of heat management thing i use for tangiers (that i had like twice because my cousins friend couldn't get it smoking, if someone will send me tangiers i will love them forever.): 4a) pack your bowl not too tight not too loose, you'll need decent airflow. 4b) Remember to leave your tangiers out 3-4 hours before smoking it to avoid humidity shock. (leave the tobacco open so that it can acclimate.) 4c) Set up your coals like this: each red gray, turd resembling blob i have drawn resembles about 1/3 of a quicklite disc. 4d) Rotate coals every once in a while 5) If none of those steps worked, check your hookah to see that there are no air leaks, and try cleaning it out thoroughly with vinegar/lemon extract. Hope i've helped somewhat Yonatan.
Vinson
Ahh, I bet my problem is too much area in the base. I started to fill it up less and less thinking more smoke would build up inside, without realizing it becomes thinner! I'll give it a try right now And this is the reason I have at least a kg on hand at all times Thanks Yonatan!

Sonthert
IF the bowl is hard to draw through you need more airflow or less tobacco. If the bowl feels too easy to draw through, you need to add more tobacco. Too much or too little tobacco will make the thin smoke.
