Mathazar
I think I remember a Canadian mentioning that along with his new hookah came included in the package some 50 gram packs of tobacco. I'm almost certain he said that he had to pay a $30 duty on the tobacco. If you're buying a new hookah, go over to Hookah-Hookah.com and customize a Persion multi-hose hookah. All their new Persian multi-hose hookahs come with the Auto-Seal System, and the stems are made of Stainless Steel
Nathalie
I finally got past the cookie login problem so I can use my username now Thanks for the reply...I guess $30 wouldn't be too bad, especially since what I have seen in the one store I have found that carries hookahs locally has very much failed to impress me (I mean even without knowing much I know they should at least look like they fit together I am also considering asking them to live out the tobacco since thta might decrease the costs and I can buy it here. Now for some more advice...if anyone cared to share their expertise that'd be great and very helpful! The Auto- Seal system hookahs are beautiful BUT sadly my finances do not allow for a mult-hose one at this time...so I'm looking for an affordable option that will work for starting up etc with the option of upgrading later on...so I was wondering: what size does a hookah have to be to be functional and an enjoyable smoke? I really like this one: http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.asp?code=32 but if either http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.asp?code=41 or://http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.a...=41 or://http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.a...=41 or://http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.a...=41 or://http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.a...=41 or://http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.a...=41 or://http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.a...=41 or://http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.a...=41 or http://hookah4u.com/hookah4u/item.asp?code.../url] were a functional enough start-up investment I'd go for one of them.... Also...it looks like the bigger ones have a second "knob" on the stem...is that simply a decorative thing or is it possible to attach a second hose to these? If anybody would be willing to give me some advice on this that'd be great! Thanx a lot! Nathalie
Mathazar
The one for $23.95 looks just fine. It's a 21" hookah, and that's all you need to get started. I've got an 18" Sultan Hookah that I paid $40 for locally and it works very well. The second knob is an air-release valve in case you want to blow excess smoke out of your hookah. I'm not sure if you can add another hose unless it was specifically designed for that purpose. You'll have to contact the company and ask them. Glad you got your cookie log-in problem taken care of. Nathalie
Thanks You are probably THE most helpful person ever!! I think I will buy the 26" just because it's soo much prettier (I admit I'm a girl ) and only costs me $5 more. I emailed them asking if it was possible to convert the air valve into an attachment for a second hose ( I was thinking of that attachment I have seen on one of the wesbites...don't remember which one right now) And then I'll hope it won't cost me too much duty. Also another question...how many grams generally go into one bowl....like how many smokes will a 50g pack give me?
Nathalie
Oh and one more question....how does the Nakhla ma'asel compare to other brands? (BTW hookah4u sells 50g for 1.49 which is the cheeapest I have seen sof ar and their shipping is very low also...don't mean to advertise for them or anything, just thought I'd share)
Mathazar
Depending on the size of the bowl, you can fit up to 25 grams, if it's a large bowl, if it's small then more like 10 to 15grams. Generally 50 grams would be approximately 2 large bowls, I think Some people love Nakhla and others hate it. I happen to think it's sh*tty ma'asell. Here's some companies that sell excellent ma'asell: www.Hookah-Hookah.com (Melon, Apple, Grape, Hazelnut, and Margarita are AWESOME) www.HookahCompany.com (Al-Amasi Memory Mix & Orange) www.Fumari.com (Watermelon - Avoid the other flavors because they SUCK!!! Although, some people have claimed that the Guava is pretty good) www.SocialSmoke.com (Al-Fakher, Romman) www.Hookah-Shisha.com (Romman Orange, Double Apple, Strawberry, and Sweet Melon) Now, the better ma'asell you go for, the more it's going to cost, but the one's I listed are EXCELLENT brands and flavors. My personal favorite out of all of them is Hookah-Hookah Hazelnut, but the other flavors I mentioned are also good. If you order from them, just be sure to stay away from their other flavors. And if you're looking for some excellent coals, you can either get quick-light or natural. My favorites are: www.Hookah-Shisha.com (Golden Coals - Quick Light) www.HookahCompany.com (Nour Natural Wood Coals) Both coals impart no flavor or odor from the coal into your smoke, though I like the Nour coals the best, because they last a long time and are free of any quick light chemicals. Goodluck and Enjoy!
Mathazar
No, $10 is expensive for 1 kilo of Nour, because you can get them for $7/kilo over at HookahCompany.com But then again, if you're buying other products from Hookah-Shisha, then you may as well buy the Nour Coals from them, it's only a $3 difference. Nour is EXCELLENT coal Sorry man, I know nothing about Lemon Wood Coals.
Mathazar
By the way, my reccommendation is that you buy 2 kilos of Nour, because if you smoke as much as I do, you'll go thru them rather quickly. And besides, it never hurts to have extra coal sitting around
ApoC
duty???? there will be additional shipping charges, and a courrier will charge customs brokerage (fedex, UPS), but you wont really be paying duty if youre shipping it up here. when i bought my hookahs they charged me about 20 bucks at my door on one of em, but not the other. i think it depends on the method and which courrier. go with UPS, they cost more but they WONT send you a bill in the mail like fedex will. personally i hate fedex. Nathalie
@PuffPuffPass: i deleted all the cookies on my computer...that did the trick. Before I had tried literally EVERYTHING @ApoC: Yeah the brokerage that courriers charge is in place of the duties that Canada Post charges if an item is sent via USPS. My hookah will in fact be sent via USPS (I hate FedEx also and even UPS usually overcharges on brokerage I find) Can I ask how much the hookah that you paid $20 for cost (since it is usually calculated as a percentage of value that;d be interesting to me) and also if tobacco was included and how much? $20 isn't too bad though....
