Johnny_D
OK... So I finally got the funnel bowl to start smoking really good Caramellanne was right - i needed more heat But i have a couple of questions :- Does the funnel bowl change the taste? I have got a bowl full of grape AF and it's really flavourfull. Tastes different to a normal bowl. And while it's smoking it's good - It's like smoking a thick shake!!!!!! Do I need more holes over the funnely bit? Any advise welcome JD
Fumare
With the Funnel bowl, it will taste more flavorfull then your normal bowls. Hole pattern doesn't really matter, but make sure its packed to the top. Dont worry it wont get harsh. I use coconut coals now instead 3 kings, for cleaner and longer burn. I usually poke one hole over the center hole.
Macho555
I use a pencil and poke a hole over the funnel bit. The flavor lasts longer because of alot of reasons the Tangiers could probably explain better himself. I expect that it has something to do with how the juice doesn't leak out of the bowl. I pack mine about 1/2-3/4 and it still lasts 2-3 hours and when i take the foil off there are still juices
skiracerj1
Yeah flavor is definately amplified by the fact that the juices dont get to run away like scared little girls, they have to stay and take it like a man, lol. As for the hole patter, i find one larger hole over the phunnel spout is good, but the thick milkshake draw is probably coming from not using enough tobacco, at least for me that was the cause. You have to fill the bowl all the way up in order to keep the foil from sealing off the phunnel spout.
ASUSEAN1
I have never had a problem with the hoil sealing the phunnel spout either.. just wrap the foil tight enough around the bowl

EvansLight
It changes the flavour only because the juice that would normally leak down the bowl into your stem, making a nice mess, is kept in the tobacco itself. This means more of the juicy goodness, where the flavour mianly lives, stays up there and gets smoked. Holes are really up to you. I put 1 large on in the middle, then a triangle shape, coming from the middle, just big enough for 1 3kings coal. Then i pop 2 3k on there and im good

DizzyGuy
Macho, besides possible volume change, I haven't noticed much of a difference with or without the hole
