Macho555
http://www.hookahwholesale.com./hookahs/it...ose&fix_price=n I just saw this on Hookah Wholesale...judging from the description and the price, I'm not sure. Is this thing supposed to be solid silver??? It has an option for 24k Gold custom etching too. O_o If its really what I think, that damn, thats a collectable. DizzyGuy
Yeah... I've seen those before, the one in Stuff Magazine was going for 1000... but if you're gonna get one of those, make sure it's actually a silver hookah as opposed to just saying silver like I've seen on some sites. smiley
Hey Macho. That Hookah is amazeing. I own one. The best money I ever spent. I love it. It's Solid Silver alright. But be carful there are fakes out there to. Taqseen sells fake ones. I bought one of those too. It sucks so bad. The real ones are made by MYA. It should have a MYA embosed on the Silver. Smokes like no other hookah I ever smoked out of. Smiley 8)
DizzyGuy
.... I thought that Taqseem made the origional stargate?
Macho555
Well, I'm not sure about who made the original but I'm willing to bet Taqseem started making cheaper versions of the solid silver one. That would make sense, because people who couldn't afford the silver could still buy the design. Smiley, does yours have the same problems as a Stargate, IE pieces falling off, bases cracking easily etc? I've heard a few horror stories on the forum. I would assume if they are really made by MYA that they don't...
smiley
No . not a problem to be found. i've had it for three years. Smokes like a champ. The Taqseen ones came out right after. He was telling me about it. I was bumbed that the Silver one was so expensive.I had wanted them for the shop. So he sold me a Fake. I wanted to try it out before I bought a bunch. It blew up from the presure. Water went everywhere. All over me and my friends. The thing was such a piece of shit. I ciould not unscrew anything. Macho the cool thing about the real ones or I should say all of them. Is they break down like a gun. Everything unscrews. Thats what i meant about I could not unscrew the parts. My Silver one no problems ever. Good luck You should call the guy. Ask if it has the MYA symbol embosed on the metal. Or call MYA Sari see if they have any. sheesha007
I would think the bowl on that sheesha would take up so much heat thus burning the tobacco quickly

yashman19
This has been discussed in the past, but I'll try to go over it again as best as I can. Maybe Samir from Taqseem Hookahs himself will notice this thread and correct me if I'm wrong. These solid silver hookahs were made a while ago by some company. Samir bought one of the originals years ago, and had them replicated in China, to be sold as the Stargate hookah. He never tried to pass them off as being the original solid silver hookah. He started developing them in all different colors including silver, brass, gold, copper etc, but after a little while had to start coming up with ways to let people know they were buying a real Taqseem Stargate, as other companies started to make knock-offs of his replica. They were making these knockoffs with a different material, and could easily be identified due to their super light-weight chinsy tray. He started including a samsonite case that came with his Stargate, which had the official Taqseem logo, so people would know they wern't one of the knock-offs. And since then he's come out with a few variations to the Stargate, including a stargate rotator, multi-hose stargates etc. Like I said, I'm probably missing some other key info, but Taqseem hookahs is local to me, and I've been to Samir's warehouses on multiple occasions, where we talk about hookahs, business etc. He's had his beef with the forum in the past, so now he tends to stay out of most discussion, but I think people can still get in contact with him if they need a hookah. People have had problems with their stargates, which we have talked about in person, and he's always said that he is more than welcome to replace any defects a person gets. Very nice guy, and he knows hes got a customer for life with me. I haven't heard from him in a while though, but I'm sure he's doing just fine. Also, Myasaray has nothing to do with the Stargate. Totally different companies.

Macho555
Yeah, I've never talked ot taqseem himself, but I know I'd love to own a stargate...i'm planning to buy one very soon. I figured it was something liek you said Yash. I own my little Junior, and the damn thing refuses to die no matter how much grief I give it. I have to assume a stargate would have the same rock hard structure, but I just keep hearing strange things about the base leaking and whatnot...but so pretty... suicideguy
Are there tarnish problems with these hookahs?
yashman19
The part you have to worry about is the plexi-glass coming lose from the metal base. This is why people have leaking problems. But I've had mine for 4+ years now, and mine never showed signs of leaking. Maybe I just got lucky? As for tarishing, never saw a problem with that either. The only place where the finish rubbed off was the top stem, where you need to screw on the top screw onto your tray. You have to screw it on tight so it won't wobble, and doing so will rub off that small area, but it's not noticble unless you take unscrew the tray during cleaning. Lakemonster
LOL....... if its that design. and its not made of solid silver.... IT IS A KNOCKOFF. I remember when homeboy came in telling about how he "took the design" to China....... then complained when Chinese manufacturers were "knocking" him off. I dont remember him saying that he got licenced to produce the design... so... ya know. what can you expect? What are those solid silver ones going for these days? Have they come down at all?
SanguineSolitude
the real silver ones, if they are real silver, will tarnish. unless theyre coated with like a varnish of some sort.
Macho555
I definatly think a Stargate will be my taller hookah if I can save the money. Oh hells yah...Social Smoke has a few. I'll have to email them and see if they come fro Taqseem.
