ASUSEAN1
Well I just thought of a great idea in reguards to the "pushing of products is out of control" topic... How about a new section on the hookah forum for websites and what not to post deals, new products, etc. That way we can talk about hookah here and not have to worry about people pushing their products/companies and at the same time, companies can post there stuff on a different section. That way if you want to order something you can look through the advertising section for the best deal... what do you guys think?
Tobes
sounds good.
angemonkwj
good idea but the only problem I see with that is that the minute that there is a new special or sale goin on we will have new posts on this board saying "go check out my post in the vendor section about new prices!!". ShishaFred
Not unless you specify in the code of conduct ALL advertisement has to be done in the section spefically done for it ( duh) . I mean , if they can't follow rules so simple as posting threads in the right place.... maybe they shouldn't have the right to advertise here. Kind of a privilege to be able to advertise your products to a large database of people very interested in them.

yashman19
QUOTE (Sonthert)I've advocated this idea for awhile. I'm ok with it. I'm sure you would be able to word the "guidlines" sticky much better than I can, which I think is VERY important if we are to have a advertising section. Would you do the honors? Scheetz
I am all for it, but just because you put the rules in the code of conduct doesnt mean people are going to follow them. Honestly, how many people actually read the rules before they ever post. Probably 1 for every 100 people. Maybe 1 in a 1000.

EvansLight
The forums were created by a vendor (whos name is a secret.... not really but oh well ) to give the hookah users a place to chat. They didnt advertise here, they wanted to keep it out. And for the most part advertisers are only supposed to be allowed to advertise if they become regular users as well. I just think we should for the most part keep it out. I mean if a vendor that is an active member (under a diffrent name, or the name used for the store) then they can post sales, and new discount codes, i think thats fine. But for the most part, vendors get enough word-of-mouth from users, i think that should be good, since the people who fund this site for the most part, are a vendor, and dont advertise on there own forums. mushrat
I'm with Evanslight. We have a Vendor review section with links to every vendor people have been able to give me. We allow participating vendor/members to announce sales right here. This that don't participate in the general discussion don't get to advertise, works well so far. If you are interested in a vendor's offereing, go to the review section, click on the link. The Sub Forums are starting to get a bit out of hand in my opinion, and soemthing we'll discuss in the Mod/admin area.(hint hint guys). Besides, its not like people are rushing in great numbers to fill in the Vendor reviews Most everyone was asking for.
