Dragonsmettle
I went over a buddies house and he breaks out his hookah, sets it up with 2apple. Ive always had good experiances with 2 apple but when i tasted his it was not very pleasant, and kinda harsh. my question is: is this how al fahker is or was it just a bad session? Erica
Just a bad session!!!!! AF is really good. 2x apple.. not so much in any brand..... But dont let the one eperience throw you from that brand
ethpants
I had a session of that last night too as a matter of fact. I second your experience, but there's a good change mice was because of my gf's worn brass hookah not making the shisha any justice.
cymptom
I've had some great sessions with AF Double Apple... very smooth and extremely thick. All good if you like licorice...
damo2010
Assuming there were no problems with the setup, try adding ice (couple of cubes will suffice) to the base next time or reduce the number of coals.
40 Thieves
AF also likes natural coals
[LB]
I love the sweet anise in AF 2x apple, you definently just had a bad session. Your friend probably had a dirt bowl, pipe and bad coals
Captain Courageous
yeah, just sounds like you had a bad hookah bowl going... not that AF is harsh itself. If I were to guess anything I would say it would have been because of the coals... that is what usualy makes it harsh for me when ever it does get harsh from time to time. I think the only thing bad about AF is that sometimes the juices seem to drip down through the hookah alittle too much or the smoke itself feels alittle bit too wet if that makes any sense. lilotaku
I've been smokin AF for a few years now and i can say the only time i've ever had a bad session is when there's something wrong with the setup not the actual tobacco itself. They are probably one of the most consistent brands out their and i'm sure many on this forum will agree. I'm still not a big fan of their x2 apple though. But I always ALWAYS keep a batch of their Baihrani apple and Esk Apple on hand, along with their Golden Grape and orange.

The only apple that has Anise(licorice) is Double apple. I hate the stuff, but i highly recommend Baihrani Apple or Eskandari apple, no licorice all apple. Bairani is like a red apple and the Esk has a slight tartness to it like a green apple.
