Regional Guide Forum

So, I went to New York last weekend, and it gave me an idea. Before I left, I went wading through HookahForum posts containing "New York" to find guides to where to smoke hookah and buy shisha in the city, and it took a while but I found advice on both fronts. Also, while in New York I went to an a fantastic hookah lounge (Habibi Lounge, 198 Avenue A in Alphabet City / East Village, Manhattan) and I wanted to review it when I got back. It occurred to me that there are a ton of posts about smoke shops and hookah lounges in various areas, but they seem to be all lost deep in the general forum, and maybe it would make sense to split them out into a separate part of the forum. There could be separate parts for smoke shops and for lounges, or whatever people think is appropriate. Maybe it makes sense to wait until we have new forum software to implement this, but it seems to be at least as useful as some of the other separate forums that we have, so maybe doing it now makes sense.

What do other people think? I apologize wholeheartedly if anyone else has brought this up before - I only did a small search for similar posts. Edited December 15, 2006 by mgcsinc

for any of those paintballers out there the popular paintball forum "www.pbnation.com" is set up really really well and organized...they have a regionals forum too

although the mods and administrators are not good examples, the actual set up of the forum is very clean cut and organized

good idea. I had to hit up people on myspace went I went back home to Sac for the first time after I had moved to SDSU (didnt know hookah existed until college). A regional forum would be EXCELLENT.

But yes a regional forum would be a good idea. Someone just needs to gank the hookah lounge list from that one site that has em set up by state already.

haha and im right behind you i didnt say the site was run well, i said it was set up well.
the kids on there are ridiculous trust me i put up with it for a while

and for the record an ion is toilet paper compared to a dm6, i would know my team had a full ride from dye/proto in the 05 year

well, as soon as I am working full time and not wasting my time with school I plan to find a D2 team to play with. Hopefully, do well enough to play the tourney's with em. I don't mind practicing just for the sake of being a back up though.

And yes I am bitter towards Pbnation. I am on there all the time, but it pisses me off the amount of people who offer lowballs for guns. Honestly, do you think I will sell my ego for $450? Some kid offered me $200 for my proto. Mind you this was 3 weeks after I already sold and shipped it out.

i played recruit team for aftermath, legacy, ironmen, and bushwacker
and ive played tourneys with sedition and thunder kids

when your a recruit your basically a drill bitch but god damn you get good at those drills, i mean really good.

well, it seems like someone has been around the block. I am probably at half the level you are if not 2/3rds. If I played more I would be good to go, just havent really tried to find a team to practice with.

I practiced with Pevs before. They are my home field. But that was a long ass time ago. Once college is over, Lacrosse kind becomes a dead sport unless I start coaching highschool, but even then its a dead sport for me. Not playing would make me bored. So paintball needs to take over, unless I could move to some area where I could snowboard/ski year around.

we have the best teams in the world and thats true, we got ironmen, bobby and his boys always show up at sc, and of course the cliche dynasty
i get to practice with them every weekend

paintballs tricky cus its on the edge of being very successful or not very at all, and im saying the sport in general the nppl is doing a very good job of marketing the paintball idea but its too slow for the crowd what needs to happen is hte nxl and the psp and the nppl all need to join if paintballs gonna go anywhere.

but im pretty sure this isnt a paintball forum, lol uhhhh whats hoookah?
all in all good luck with your paintball career, if you really have a passion for it you can succeed, but if you have any doubt put the gun away now cus its not worth it you need to put in 110% for tournament paintabll
(but trust me the free beer and the psp parties are worth it )

haha, yeah, I tried and failed at getting a NCPA college team started here. I was hoping it would work, going to the nationals to play and chicago and what not sounded like a badass idea.

Well, as long as I bring the small 2 hosed hookah with me. Get a bowl smoked during the break times I think I will be good to go.

i think its a great idea, i can probably help finish the LA part of CA since there are so many places here both hookah lounges, and smoke shops or your local armo grocery store lol !

instead of individual cities, it should be done by regions
ex: USA (within that theyll be West, Midwest, South, East COast) and then UK &or Mexico
within the american regions can be topics posted about cali, or la, or however specific one may want to get

I would recommend by region, but then break down some of the larger areas (e.g. LA, SD, Bay Area, etc.) into cities.

quite a large amount of bandwith if you take into consideration cities in each region in usa and uk
or you could do just two...San Diego & Rest Of World

Sneaky you ! I really think it would be a nice idea , I frequently see people asking for bars in X or Y area , as well as head shops. First post could be by mushrat , he'd then edit his first post to list good places found by people , so that most of the information in in post #1 : easy to see !

Yep. I mean, there's a lot of existing threads about various areas that have already made a good start at this.
