Vinson
So... can I die from smoking honey that I mix in with my shisha? We tried it, and half way thru the bowl we both swore Jimi Hendrix was playing a solo on top of the bowl. Not really, but is it harmful to add honey to the mix? Thanks
Scheetz
no its not. Honey and glycerin are used to make shisha. Companies use 1 or the other. Just don't add a huge amount. You just want to keep it moist. So if the shisha is a bit on teh dry side add half a teaspoon and mix it up. Need more add a bit.
speel
Also do you get thicker smoke?
SanguineSolitude
actually honey and glycerine are used. sheets. or rather glycerine is always used and honey/molasses/or corn syrup are interchangeably used depending on brand.. as in tangiers would contain tobacco black molasses glycerine and flavorings. Its not glycerine or honey, glycerine is always there. if your shisha isnt dry dont bother adding honey?
Vinson
I have no idea where the flavours come from. Its kind of a mystery to me... but if I ever found out you can guarantee I'd spend either a lot of time in the hospital from smoking a batch that got me sick, or a lot of money experimenting with taste. Macho555
Yeah, I think actually its Fumari that uses the corn syrup, if I rmember right.
SanguineSolitude
most brands do anymore macho. very few use honey or molasses. corn syrup is cheaper and imparts almost no flavor to the tobacco.
Macho555
I suppose that makes sense. Corn Syrup by the case is about 10 dollars cheaper I think...(I do my bulk buying for various foods, and I barely remember the differences) A good honey flavored shisha would be awesome (somewhat offtopic)...the only one I know of is HookahHookah. Smells like ass but it works when you get it right.
smiley
You can use a drop of honey. This won't hurt you. The reason you saw Jimmi Hendrix. Because the Honey for some reason gives a floaty feeling. My buddy Azmi is the one who told me about what was going on in Eygpt. He told me about the honey thing. I love it. Boy do you ever take a ride. LOL We serve this at Smiley's Honey Bomb yea haw Smiley 8)
Macho555
Doesn't honey have some type of strange calming effect, due to natural chemicals? Maybe when you smoke it, those things REALLY come out. I guess I'm heading to wikipedia.
Vinson
Hahah, thanks for all the feedback guys.
