Jack Straw
Hi guys, love the site. Been lurking for a while here... I was given a hookah as a wedding present and was told that it was ordered from Lebanon. It's up and running now, but I have a few questions for you experts. First, the hose "sockets" seem smaller than other Hookahs I've seen. The ends of the hose just barely fit inside. It's almost like it's missing the end piece. I've rigged it up by taking some hose grommets, flipping them around so that the small end of the grommet is tight on the end of the hose, and I put the wide end of the grommet on the outside of the pipe coming out of the base. It's working, so no huge complaints here, but the tight fit of the wooden hose end against the metal is starting to chip and ruin my hoses. Have you guys ever seen this? Do you know if there are special narrow hoses or if there is any way that I can order the wider metal "sockets" that I could solder onto the pipes? I have a few other questions, but have babbled on for long enough and feel bad for bogging down the board with newbie questions. Peace.
[LB]
hi there! and welcome to the forum. A lebanese hookah has a different receptor than that on an egyptian hookah, I have one myself and i did two things to solve this issue. One was I bought an adapter, which works, although is not very practical, nor does it seal well. The second solution was to order a lebanese bowl from myasaray.com, and this was the better choice. you probably need a small grommet as well to fit it on, or you can improvise- that is one advantage of a lebanese hookah is that you can improvise with the bowl fitting. here are two links- the first is for the bowl, the second for the adapter, unless you have a mya hookah then buy a lebanese bowl adapter, also available at myasaray.com http://myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID...EPARTMENT_ID=36 I just realised they dont feature the clay adapter i bought a while ago, so your on your own with that. i would strongly suggest just buying a lebanese bowl itself. http://myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID...EPARTMENT_ID=36 good luck! mgcsinc
I think he's actually talking about the hose fit...
Jack Straw
Thanks, though. I saw the Mya hose adaptors on the site you posted. Maybe that's what I need. I'm trying to figure out how to post a pic here, but I'm no HTML expert.

[LB]
haha maybe i should read the entire initial posts before going on a rant. I thought i knew exactly what your problem was. most hoses are a universal size, and the onyl thing that can fix that problem is hose grommets, or as i said before you can improvise. Macho555
I know what your talking about man...my one friend has a classy hookah, and I remember thinking that the hose port was TINY. I ALSO remember though, that it had a hose that fit to it, with yarn wrapped around the end, instead of a wooden one...that said... I have a certain very old hookah, who I remember also had a small port...then, after alot of searching through the house, I came across a piece that I found out SCREWED INTO the small hole. Maybe you're problems like that.
Jack Straw
Cool. Thanks. It is a sweet hookah, but seems like all of the fittings are a little odd. I've tried three different base grommets and none of them fit into the vase, and these hose ports are just too small to fit a grommet inside. I've got it working (just puffed some Starbuzz Irish Cream and Fumari Vanilla mix), and will keep a roll of electric tape around to improvise. fizzgig
Hi there and welcome to the forum!! That hookah is sweet and looks like the kind they have at Hookahook. This company is based in Lebanon. Check out Mr. Bubble's review in the vendor review section. I'm betting if you posed your question to them they could advise you. They carry hoses under the accessories section. I'd post a link for you but am completely ignorant as to how... so check out that review and you'll find the link there.
