Glycerin

Hi everyone,

I am very interested in making my own tobacco, but I don't really know where to get some glycerin locally. Does anyone know of any place where I can get some, such as a major store. I would need to get the vegetable type of glycerin. I have seen the topics before about making tobacco, but does anyone with experience have any tips for me. I have honey, corn syrup, and molasses and tobacco (American spirit), so I have some supplies to experiment when I get some glycerin. Thanks in advance for any help, and if I make any tobacco that is a little worthwhile, I will send it to people that give me tips that help me.

Try and find a place like Hobby Lobby or another shop that sells soap making supplies. Vegetable glycerin is a common component.

try a local pharmacy. I did not go to CVS, I buy mine from behind the counter.

And for the record. All the glycerin you will buy is the same. Ask for the glycerin that the pharmacist uses. Honey can also be substituted for glycerin.

You can also buy it off the internet.

so sheetz, the glycerin at CVS is fine to use for hookah? I was told a few times to use veg. glycerin... but if I can use the kind at CVS, then that would be great.

if you want to use veg. glycerin just search google. There are loads of websites tht sell it cheap

yeah, I use the glycerin that is used to make gel tablets for pills.

no need to go on an endless hunt for veg. glycerin when they are all the same.

I have my recipe down. Just want to find some other tobaccos to mess with. Its pretty easy to do. Your good to go as long as you are making it for yourself and friends. When you try and sell it, well thats a whole new world and a shit load of laws.

I tried to make my own shisha today. Let me say it sucked ass. I couldn't find the glycerin anywhere. So I used molasses, honey, and some pipe tobacco? I don't know what I'm doing... but it sure tasted like hell.

glycerine and honey are NOT really interchangeable. glycerine is what gives the smoke. in other forms of tobacco you are litterally burning the tobacco and inhaling the smoke formed by the combustion, in hookah you are more vaporizing the glycerine and volatile chems in the tobacco rather than burning it.

use glycerine
honey/molasses/thick corn syrup
some food grade flavorings (fruit wont do much)
pipe tobacco wont work great since its usually fairly high in flavor already.

Made the mistake of adding too much glycerin after a night of drinking & the headache (not buzz) I got (which lasted all night & most of the next day) was horrible. It was like having a hangover three times.

In regards to food-grade flavorings, are you talking about flavor extract/concentrate or coffee/snow cone syrups or what?

Think I could pour a little tiny bit of flavored syrup and mix it in with already made shisha? It got kind of dry
