Burning My Shisha!?

OK, Leaving at 5 and going to go smoke my hookah, maybe have some people coming over...I have been experimenting with different techniques, to try and NOT burn my shisha so badly...but I don't want to experiment with friends coming over!

So any suggestions??? Packing, hole pattern, coal layout (I have golden ql), ohh and I am smoking outta a mya-qt. The shisha is Al Waha

what do you mean to not burn it so badly. have you been burning it? try two layers of foil or less coal.
waha doesnt burn real easily, maybe youre packing it too full or using too much coal.

I may be packing too full, I am not sure how much I am supposed to put!?

Last night I tried two layers of foil, with 1.5 golden quick lites, I wasn't getting a lot of smoke...after 30 minutes I added the other .5 piece and was good for 3 minutes..then it burned, "Harsh"

I am looking on the net now, trying to find pics, explaining the proper way to pack, holes, and coal placement... not finding much yet, as far as detailed pics go...once I figure it out, I am going to make a page for it...

thats weird. i usually just stir up my tobacco really good grab my shisha tongs (i have a pair for shisha and a pair for coal) and gently grab globs of shisha and set them in the bowl. pack lightly so theres plenty of airspace and try to keep the tobacco under the edge of the bowl. foil her. stab lots of little holes. throw on a 3king or two and smoke. i dont know what you can be doing in order to manage to burn it each time. maybe you puff too rapidly... i dont know. seems weird

if I may,

I suggest, with a qt and al waha that you fill the bowl to the top. Place the foil (i used single layer myself) right on top, poke holes...i use a spiral pattern. start with 1 golden broken in half. I split my ql's BEFORE lighting. Once they are ashy, put the halves along the edges of the bowl. add wind cover or foil chimney wrap and puff like a fiend. :shock:

if and only if you still don't get real smoke, add another half also along the edge. Once about 20 minutes in, prep the next set of coals, dump the old ash and glowing bits out before adding the new coals to the bowl. repete as necessary. 1 1/2 to start my be pushing the edge and that 2nd half is probably pushing it over the edge...
