SUPPOSEDLY, it creates more heat with the shiny part down.

However, cook all the time and I have never been told use the shinny side up or down when cooking food. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that it doesnt matter.

Unless someone can produce temperature differences on a scientific paper. Use which ever side you want.

same here. never tried it with the shiney side up. force of habbit i guess.
