fizzgig
Run plenty of hot water thru it, and hang it up to dry so the water doesn't stay trapped inside.
ASUSEAN1
do a search. mr bubble gave a jump rope style cleaning method tht dominates any other hose cleaning method.

ShishaFred
Yeah I had a friend who'd blow an Air Duster ( or whatever they call these cans of compressed air) into his hoses because they were not washable. It did leave a sort of aftertaste ( not too unpleasant ) but it's better than nothing
[LB]
QUOTE (fizzgig @ Dec 12 2006, 08:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Run plenty of hot water thru it, and hang it up to dry so the water doesn't stay trapped inside.I have a better technique that i use that i got from someone on the forum (excuse me for not crediting you) but it is to take the hose, run water through it and then smack it ferociously on the ground and then wash it again. I have modified this technique a little because i broke a hose one day when i was doing this, instead hold the hose so that the stem that goes into the hookah, and the mouth piece/handle are not hitting the ground on the smack (just hold the hose by the steam and handle in an 'oxbow' shape) then smack- run water through the mouth piece and out the stem section, so you dont get nasty loosened particles in your mouth. Repeat until the water is no longer brown, but crystal clearblow out as much moisture as you canthen tie the hose to a beam or something above your head, with the mouthpiece pointing upwards, and the stem piece downwards, so the remainder of water can drip out onto a towel or paper towel. leave it for about an hourAND THEN ENJOY YOUR PERFECTLY CLEAN HOSE! MY BAD IF YOU HAVE A METAL COIL HOSE USE BUBBLE's STEP E after the blowing out the moisture step-E. Now we see if you have a strong hose. You need to evacuate the water out in case you have metal coils inside. Go outside in the middle of the yard. Don't get too close to the car or it could get messy. While holding one end of the hose, swing your arm over-head, round and round. Your hose should now be swinging around in a circle, horizontally from centrifugal force. The faster, the better, because any residual water is now leaving your hose, going all over the neighbor's car and house and cat and whatever. You get the flick. After you do this for a while, and if your hose didn't fly apart, I'll say your in business. And if it does fly apart? Well, just pretend there's a legal disclaimer at the bottom to read  Edited December 13, 2006 by [LB]

Shavo989
Random note - The new quote thing had me confused for quite a while. Like others have said, make sure you hit the hose (not the ends, just the middle) on something like a wall or floor and then run water through it. I used to do the thing where you suck the water from a fauced up through the hose and then swhich ends and blow it out, but a moment of serendipity hit and I thought of a way that works rather well for washable hoses. The Method -1) Go to your shower and un-screw the head, put it aside2) Smack the shit out of the hose 3) Fit the end that goes into the stem into the pipe where the shower head would go (wrap it in foil or some paper towel if you're wary about the pipe nicking the outside of the hose end). Just let the hose hang down4) Turn the water on to warm (you might want to take your shirt off in case some water might run down your arm)5) Let the water run until it lightens in color and then repeat the process (smaking and rinsing until the water runs clear)Then screw the head back onto the shower and take the hose out and do the spin thing to dry it out.
