ksblazer
I kinda like Speels suggestions as well.MYA Saray makes heavy duty hookahs that smoke like a champ. Plus they have one of the best return policy's out there if anything happens to it and they are easy to get parts and accesories for them as well. What are your reasons for endorsing these, if I may ask?Simply because of quality. Mya Saray is kinda like the Lamborghini of hookah pipes ive never seen a negative review , theyre built to last, and to me their simply beautiful. And me personally I'm waiting to get my mya QT soon =] but i wished my first pipe was a mya.
cypherkk
if you are going to smoke it at a frat I would recommend a acrylic base. If the frats are anything like the ones I had in college.
xpimpitox
i fully endorse any mya hookah. they are like everybody says, smoking powerhouses that are of high quality and look nice! i got a mya bohemian a few months ago and my other 2 hookahs never see the light of day. you will not be dissapointed. sicklecow
What about size and height? And should I consider a double hose over a single?By the way, thanks for all your help everyone. I probably will end up getting an Egyptian; the Myas are a bit pricier and the selection IMO is a bit lackluster, although I do love the bases on those. If I do end up with an Egyptian, what do you guys propose?
ioannisds
What EL said. Social Smoke Egyptians are the best I have come across.
web250
I'd recommend any MYA, as well as Socialsmoke's egyptian line. Both are excellent choices

sicklecow
Great, well I'll definitely look more into the SS Egyptians. Stay tuned for more n00bishness from sicklecow as he peruses SocialSmoke! And thanks again!
ShishaFred
Yeah I think egyptian look very classy. More than a dwarf QT at least Edited December 13, 2006 by ShishaFred
SanguineSolitude
a large double hosed SS egyptian is a great choice for a frat for several, 1 its very sturdy and is unlikely to break unless you like drop it from a height. 2. it will hit better than a smaller hookah like the qt or junior modern. 3. its fairly reasonably priced and SS sells replacement vases and such. so youll be good to go.Heres a few suggestions for ordering. (things i wish someone told me when i ordered the first time )when you pick the color of hose hose, pick the option to upgrate to a SYNTHETIC WASHABLE HOSE. these are the mya hoses that everyone loves. you can run water through them and clean them. (normal hoses cant be cleaned and build up dirt. not good) theyre like 1.50 a piece more so its definately worth it.pick up extra shisha like 2 250g packs. the 2 50g packs will last almost no time. social smoke has a good selection of shisha.if youre gonna smoke with multiple people maybe grab one of the large ceramic bowls. the normal clay ones wont last more than half an hour with 3+ people hitting it.pick up a cleaning brush kit.oh and for 15% discount type in hookahforum in the coupon box during checkout. thats a deal right there! sicklecow
Awesome! Thanks, that was very helpful, I'll keep all this in mind. If I find anything I like better I'll post it here for comments, but for now it looks like the one above is in the lead. Thanks again everyone. skiracerj1
I have a friend who has that exact hookah you want to get, its a very quality piece and will last a long long time, I agree you should get that one whole heartedly. definately get the washable hoses and extra bowl, as well as some more tobacco and coals. Oh and the frosted clear vase is absolutley stunning in person, despite how it may look on the website.

If I do end up with an Egyptian, what do you guys propose?size of the base dosent matter to much. with alot of people size of the hookah dosent matter as much as length of the hose. also though alot of people can smoke from a double hose not everyone is getting as much smoke if pulling at the same time. though it makes for big hits if one person pull off of both hoses at once the double hose basicly just makes for less passing

Lukasa
seconding double hose SS hookah. don't go over 26 inches or so i'd say, larger than that is a hassle to move/ clean.
SanguineSolitude
only a hassle to move long distances like to someone else house. and even thats not really true. plus if you have a large set of cleaning brushes its easy to clean.
sicklecow
Hmm. The one I'm looking at is 32", do you really think that'll be a problem? I'm fine with a little extra hassle, especially since I need it to accommodate around 10 people every once in a while. But if you do think that the added hassle is significant, please feel free to tell me about it.

SanguineSolitude
its not significant sickle. the only hassle would be moving the hookah. as in you have to move and object thats 32 inches long. no more hassle than moving any other large object. sicklecow
Gotcha. All right, well my girlfriend's certainly happy to see that I've taken such an interest in her gift to me, and also happy to see that I've discovered some discounts for her. I'm very thankful for all of the advice I've received here; it's much more valuable than biased product reviews or testimonials on the sellers' sites. Thanks again, and if I think of anything else I'll be sure to ask.
