70x7
Hey guys sorry if this has been talked about before, I tried a searc, but anyway I'm working on compiling a playlist for when I smoke hookah, I think the music is an essential part of the experience. Have any suggestions for good music to listen to while smoking?

I got tired of copying/pasting all of them. If you need more than that, you can just search for "Music", thread titles only.
Scheetz
I dont have a set list really. What ever I feel like listening to I put on. Sometimes is chill, sometimes its old school rock and roll, metal, Gangsta ass rap, punk, or country. So I cant really say what I listen to every time I smoke.I suggest Scissor Sisters though, they are good band to listen to . As well as The Faint.
Zerodynamic
I go with everything. Sometimes I get a hyper hyphy buzz, and I listen to techno. Other times, rap. And in between, some 80's/90's crap that no one has listened to since. But I suppose the best music we hookha smokers can have is conversation. Zerodynamic
word man. Some of the best times (and perhaps most funny) is when me and my friends are sitting in a circle smoking my shisha and talking about life. Its pretty suprising where conversations go to be honest. One minute we will be talking about politics, the next minute, cars.. then oh wait, remember that time you said there were spider monkeys in your closet? ghostofdavid
Wow, conversation for the win. Bahaha. But back to the music... I put a playlist on iTunes that everyone hates that has hookah music on it. I will post it here (again) and hope you enjoy it.1. Astrud Gilberto - Who Needs Forever? (Theivery Corporation Remix) . A big amen to Theivery Corporation. In specific, their remix of Astrud Gilberto's song "Who Needs Forever?". This is the ultimate in chill.2. Caedmon's Call - Wings of the Morning . From the album "Share the Well." This is a passionate folk song inspired by world beats and exotic instruments. Another stellar song from the same track is of the same name as the album.3. Incubus - Aqueous Transmission . From the album "Morning View" this song is all about the transcendental. Incubus is known for their delicate and subtle touches that make an other wise good song become an excellent song and their finesse really shows on this song.4. Bloc Party - Banquet - This song, from the album "Silent Alarm" gives us an ultramodern rock song from across the pond. Very chill and very danceable. 5. Team Sleep - King Diamond . A dark and brooding electronica song that makes good ambience for the times when discussion around the hookah is at a lull. It relaxes you without boring your aural senses.6. Patty Griffin - Mary . This song is decliate and hints on the romantic. By this, I do not mean love but intense and when she sings, you can feel it. 7. Rosie Thomas - Two Dollar Shoes . If this song does not want you to fall in love with a woman who could sing you to sleep with a voice like that, then ... well, then you are different than me! And that's OK!8. Stavesacre - Gold And Silver . One of my favorite songs from my favorite bands out of California. Mark Saloman's voice reminds me of Maynard James Keenan from Tool, but not intentionally. His voice has this hollow but confident sound to it (without effects processors) that inspires. This song has an alternative version with Piano that may be even better. I just can't decide. 9. Metric - Combat Baby . Another electronica pop sensation. If you like the first track, you'll love the next one. Very chill, very soothing, very hookah appropriate.10. Postal Service - The District Sleeps Tonight . Ok, this is played out sad-emo-kid music but it doesn't change the fact that it is good. Give it a listen.11. Get Up Kids - Overdue . All acoustic, all good. 12. Further Seems Forever - Light Up Ahead (Acoustic) . Because no good mix ends on a sad sign. Acoustic, excellent harmonies, perfect vocals. If you can't find any of these songs, check iTunes as I just checked to see if they have them all and they do.

Shavo989
I listen to a bunch of different stuff while hitting the hookah. Nirvana - Unplugged in New York is a recent favorite smoking soundtrack of mine. For the most part I listen to a collection of tapes my grandmother has that were recorded at family gatherings. There ain't nothing like the good ole' soulful wailing violins of Romany folk music to get me into a very zen state of mind.
Shavo989
Bob Dylan (I'm a big BD fan) is also good to smoke to.
Attila
recently got into post-rock, and i must say it works quite well when smoking a hookah, too. chilly, beautiful tunes. Try Mono (the japanese band), Sigur Rós & Red Sparowes. My other favourite artists when it comes to hookah smoking include: of course Thievery Corporation (chill), DJ Krush (chill), Asian Dub Foundation (more uptempo), and Orphaned Land (an israeli metal band with lots of eastern elements, they have some growling too so that might be a problem for the majority).
