Smoke Rings In General

Hello , Just wondering how the hecks can you do like really LARGE rings like your mouths only some size right? i can do rings but you know that BIG ones. Ericas looks like the size of a 12 inch pizza. So how is it done, do you like have ur mouth as if your screaming really loud or singing opera. Ohh its buggine me!!!

I would assume you just open your mouth as much as possible. The smaller you make the opening the smaller the ring.

I think its more to do with the power that you push them out at if you know what i mean. My friend makes the little ones by tapping his cheek, but i do bigger ones by locking,or kind of popping, my jaw, again, if you know what i mean. Our mouths are pretty much open at the same width. But i might be wrong.

I can never make the bigger ones either. Someone told me its about the power you push them out, but they never work out for me. I always mess them up when I try too hard. I like the little ones anyway, heh.

When you try and blow smoke rings, there are like a million different ways to do it.. Some people pop their jaw, some people use their finger to push out the air and some people use their throat.

I personally use my throat and my diaphragm.

They way I do my smoke rings is:

1. Exhale before in taking smoke, so that I get as much smoke as I can in my lungs.
2. Take a pretty good drag not a super long one so that I’m turning purple but a big enough one so that I can set a decent amount of rings.
3. Make the pressure in your lungs like you are going to exhale but cut off the airflow with your throat.
4. Make your mouth like an O shape as big as you can go comfortably.
5. Open your throat and push with your stomach and close your throat as soon as you push a little burst of air out. (You are not exhaling the smoke like you would with a regular hit, you are letting the smoke sit in your mouth)

They way I teach people in person is you should try and make a little noise, almost like a little cough or clearing your throat. This seems to be the easiest way to teach people. I don’t know if that helps at all.. but I will post a few pictures too…

I posted a diagram on these forums a while ago on the basic science of o blowing, but I can't find it. Anyway, the size of your O is limited by how you open your mouth. It's possible to blow an O that is immediately much bigger than your mouth, and in order to do that you basically have to slowly breathe out a bit of smoke so that it gathers right in front of your mouth and then pop the air through. Normally, the biggest an O can actually be right away is with the outside dimensions of the O being the same dimensions as your mouth. If you try to blow the other way (with the smoke gathering in front of you, much harder in my opinion) your O can be virtually any size, with the inside hole diameter being about as big as your mouth. I wish I had that diagram, it makes it easier to explain, ugh. Sorry for confusing everyone. I will go into full scientific detail if anyone is actually still with me, haha.
