ZooJohnnyZETA
I dig the idea of arabic coffee and teas... sounds like it would be just the thing to go with the hookah Personally, what I drink depends a lot on what flavor I'm smoking. I really like carbonated juices (apple, strawberry, grape, etc.), chai tea, and the occassional smoothie. Sometimes I'll just have a cola though if I'm feeling lazy... but like, real cola ya know? Not that high fructose corn syrup articifical Pepsi and Coke crap. I mean real cola made from real sugar and real cola nut.... but I pretty much only drink that when I'm smoking Double Apple or Cola flavored ma'assell. So yeah, I'd go for coffees, teas, juices, and the occassional real cola.
mushrat
well, since this one has been brought back from the dead.....Im going to carry pepsi products, including gator ade, sobe, and a few other strange things.Im going to hav espresso, lates, and the like. I've also gotten french presses for teas. And Im getting flavoured syrups so I can add shots of to the coffees and make italian sodas with soda water and syrup.and then...the beers..... ZooJohnnyZETA
Nice list man! I forgot to mention italian sodas too! Man do I love those things... a vanilla italian soda with a shot of cream... mmm, that goes good with anything!
Gaara
QUOTE (mushrat @ Dec 20 2006, 08:36 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I'll be serving non-alchoholic stuff for the non-drinkers at smokestackers. I had a thread like this a while back ill dig up and print, but this is a whole new crowd so i'll ask again. I'm already thinking energy drinks, fruit juices and blends....so specificially....When smoking a hookah, especially out at a cafe, what do you like to drink that is non-alchoholic? What would you WANT to drink if it was available.?Thanks folks. You have to serve Chai Tea. It's awesome with Hookah. Energy drinks like Sobe No Fear, Rockstar, Monster, etc. (please, not Red Bull; don't know why people like it) would also be great as you mentioned. Hookah Joe
I would guess some authentic drinks, and then bottled water/ random soda? A neat idea would be to offer "packages" This flavor bowl+ this is base+ this kind of drink. I would assume doing something like that would be nice, and noob friendly, as well as seasoned pros. mushrat
Well, switched to coke...I'll have to consider some smoke combo deals. I do plan on listing drink/beers that go good with certain flavours and visa versa on the menu.
Bean
If Tangiers ever made a guiness flavor that would be awsome, then you could do a guiness flavor combo. MMMM guiness... I think i have a problem
mushrat
I actually have some tobbacco a friend of mine grew and using guiness for the flavouring is what i have in mind for it... As for the bar, I MAY carry guiness, but i have some better stouts in mind.
Lakemonster
I salute your thoughts on offering stouts....its a very expensive endeavor. I have been shopping to do a fridge conversion and looked into a setup for pouring Guinness. Many of your stouts require a strange tap that costs around $65 to $100 bucks.... then you need to stout faucet that runs at least a $100 (by the time you buy the pull). But then again, this is a business investment you are looking at instead of a fart around deal like Im looking at.So what all of Cokes line are you offering? Are they brokering Dr. Pepper for you? mushrat
Lake: ya, guiness takes a nitrogen set up i think, different from the normal co2 tap system. And yes, in THIS region they also carry dr. pepper.Free: i have someone who is going to come over and show me how to make proper turkish coffee. hbomb
I'd drink Rockstar Juice and Thai Iced Tea (oh yeah). When I open up my own hookah lounge, I'm going to have this, but since you aren't close to where I'll be, I'll let you in on this huge money maker. Slurpees. Slurpee + Hookah = uber combo.
mushrat
you checked out those slushy machines? First off they are EXPENSIVE and secondly everyone i talk to about them says they are maintinance nightmares....
hbomb
Yeah, I've checked out the costs and calculated how many I'd need to sell to break even. I forget what the numbers were, but it wouldn't take long to pay for itself and start making lots of money. Where I'm at, there isn't a 7Eleven for 60 miles, and there are 2 colleges within 8 miles, so lots of business. As for maintenance, I was friends with the owner of my 7Eleven in OC and he showed me how to work/fix them. Also, slushy is different from slurpee. I wouldn't want a slushy/icee machine. chrisrbts
I usually get a guava smoothie or a chai tea at the local hookah bar in indy (both are REALLY good with hookah).Oh yea and i usually order humus and pita bread to eat
