DL15
hey whats up everyone. So i have been using my qt for quite a while now, but this problem is only starting to happen now. It seems like lately everytime i use the qt it has this same generic taste, its not too great of a taste regardless of what tobacco i use. I have used them before and they tasted pretty good but now it seems as if it taste kind of weird. I used my 2 mya hoses and a ss hose and all brought the same taste out. I have tried running the stem with hot water and used the brush cleaner but still same kind of taste. I am getting kind of disappointed because i don't know what else to do. I am going to try using lemon to wash it out but has anybody had this problem before? Help would be great thanks!
Scalliwag
You may try nuking the bowl in a bowl of lemon juice solution. If you have any Oxyclean use that first and rinse it with lemon and water solution. My bet is that if you sniff the bowl from the bottom side you will smell a foul odor. ASUSEAN1
yea clean the bowl and all of your hoses, and the base too for tht matter, just cleaning the stem isnt going to solve your problems. i usually clean my hookah every time before using it

Sonthert
I have seen the same problem on other Myas and Group Elegance pipes with aluminum cores. The flavor seems to be associated with the corrosion of the aluminum. Its kind of bitter and metallic? I bought a friend a Group Elegance for his birthday and now, six months later, the pipe is lightly corroded (Which looks like whistish powder stuck to the metal) and he and his friend complain about the flavor coming off of the pipe...I think they may be related. They tend to smoke at night and then clean their hookah 12 hours later, which exacerbates the problem...clean it quick and it might protect it. It may be those white crusty blisters are Aluminum Hydroxide from the slightly alkaline water (from the nicotine, predominantly). Maybe thats also why lemon juice neutralizes the problem the citric acid in the lemon juice reacts aith the hydroxide.
