Inconsistant Fumari Flavors

has anyone noticed this? fumari's flavors then to vary greatly from batch to batch. their melon use to be excellant but taste and smells kinda like nakhla's now. exactly why the hell did i spend tht kind of money?? the new batch of watermelon i got suffers from this as well, the smell is not as strong and fragrant. smoke wise it's alittle less complex. their guava is amazing, i just ordered a new batch and i hope its as amazing. fumari's quality control is a big issue i feel

i agree! their passion fruit used to be my all time fave fumari flavor and was stoked when i found a local headshop carries it. so i went ahead and bought some and it tasted like garbage. nothing like i remember it and had a dominant metallic/chemical taste to it. same goes with the strawberry but at least it wasnt as bad as the passion fruit.

i just picked up some blueberry and it smells kinda funky. thru my 5+ years of smoking hookah i have known that smell and actual taste can vary greatly (tangiers is a prime example of this).

you will always find inconsistencies in flavor. I have had fumari chocolate and it was great, while I thought the banana sucked (it was very artificial), but yeah you are right that it sucks when you get bad batches especially when you pay as much as you do for fumari!

I don't believe there should be bad batches. Its more likely that, if things haven't changed much over there, they get this stuff in 5 gallon buckets and then dole it out 100g at a time. Problem being, there will be some flavor separation, that is there will be more flavor at the top or bottom (depending on the density of the flavor in question) and some may even "split" some of it going topside and some of it going bottom side. If they don't stir it well enough, this should be a very specific problem. moreover over they may not ever be able to stir it up in a way to evenly distribute the flavors. Chemical flavor or soapy flavor would correspond to too much flavor, thin, weak or off would correspond to too little flavor.

thts really interesting, didn't know it wld make such a diff, esp the mixing. i have to say tht i ordered a batch of melon a couple of mths back and then again a couple of mths later and boy it was totally diff. thanks for the input

well for the first time I must agree.

Fumari is my all time fav. but this batch I bought recently, I was so excited, has left me let down. Pfac and raspberry were very dry and mild in flavor. I'm gonna have to contact them monday and ask them about it. They have had very good cust. serv. before, so I hope they will fix it.

However this batch of blackberry and passion fruit has been phonomenal.

on another note everyone said the fruit punchtasted like fruit punch, i found it to have a strong floral undertone along with a fruit punch taste. thank got i actualy like floral or i would have been pissed.

What? Now I am PISSED! I had a bad, dry, unsmokeable batch of fumari's French Vanilla, and asked them to replace it (or refund me) and they refused! They told me they would send me 100g of Lemon Mint free with my next order instead. Fuck'em. I'm switching to Starbuzz asap. Do they make a good mint flavor?

I'm sorry to hear that I was not alone in getting crappy batches from Fumari. At least I will never get burned by them again. This is no way to treat customers. And to think they have the nerve to be the most expensive shisha out there! Starbuzz here I come.

okie i just sent my e mail to them concerning the dry peach againnnnnnn. lets see wat they say. i'm an international customer as well which means shipping is suchhhh i bitcheeee. okie tingjunkie if they offer to send another flavor to me its cool i dun mind, i feel ur pain though. if they say no refunds then i will be smoking something else from now on as well. although damn their guava is mighty tasty. bastards why is their guava so gdddd

i got some blueberry and it tasted nothing like blueberry. i got a hint of berry. it wasnt bad just not what i was expecting. blah!

i have noticed that when i order from fumari.com that the tobacco is pretty dry. When I get it from guess hookah ( who recieve it in large quantities and repackages it) it is wet and smokes a lot better, and tastes a lot better. i have had similar results ordering a kilo too, the tobacco is jus soaked in juices.

okie they said they wld replace it, on my next order. fyi no more white peach i think i'd go to starbuzz for tht. i reckon one more order from them to stock up on guava and thts it i reckon. its just a feakin hassle having to deal with this when u pay so damn much. it's cool tht they replace it though and liz akins fumari's rep does answer e mails really fast. it's a bit touch and go sometimes with fumari. i might switch to starbuzz.

Well... I'm glad they did the right thing for you, but why the hell are they picking on me? I was very polite in my e-mails, and yet, I am the only one who can't get his crappy batch replaced? Oh well. Life goes on.
