tingjunkie
Took me forever to come back and update this post- sorry. For what it's worth, my tea candle cup idea worked like a charm! Perfect heat distribution and airflow. I posted some directions in the How-To Funhouse even though it should be pretty self explanitory.http://www.hookahforum.com/Tea-Candle-Funnel-Mod-t8630.html
andyhopper@bellsouth.net
How about a small basin replacement strainer basket. Cut to size with a drummal cutting wheel and a few cuts to open the bottom up with some needle nose . Its cheap and made of steel. Holes already there lots of air flow......Thanks Sculli for you have shown the way...

[/quote] Yeah Eric doesn't approve of scalli mods as of late from what I've read on his forum. If Eric says it's not useful then I trust his judgement as I'm sure he tested it to the fullest.
Chreees
I like the tealight mod, which is basically the same thing. I recommend it, because it works for me. I haven't used one since I got my first Tangiers Mini Phunnel, though. In some cases, when I used the mod, I felt as though it might have actually intensified the flavor, since the air is forced through the tobacco, through the cut-outs in the side of the mod, and then through the center spire hole. As we all know, air just mostly passes over the tobacco in a normal phunnel bowl situation. All I can say is try it out, see for yourself if you like it. http://www.hookahforum.com/topic/36250-the-official-how-to-make-a-tealight-mod-thread/
