Tangiers Blueberry

Recommended Posts

ok... Whats the deal with this? I have no trouble with any other flavor (tangiers or not) but for some reason I cannot seem to get the blueberry to smoke properly. It always seems to be very very harsh and unpleasant to smoke. I do the same ol' setup every time I smoke (standard funnel bowl hole pattern with 2 threekings quicklites) but it doesn't seem to work with this flavor.

has anyone else had this experience with the tangiers blueberry? I'm about to just trade it off for something else because I'm clearly doing something wrong.

i ran out before i got my funnel bowl but i was actually able to get it smoking decent with hours of acclimation beforehand and packing semi dense. i would use tangers regular style bowl that has lost its limelight since the funnels have been out lol. the stuff is delish i have to order more now that i got a funnel.

yea i find if i get a proper bowl of tangers packed, it has a 5 minute harsh phase then it smooths out and the smoke thickness and flavor slowly climbs and within 10-15 mins after that i got a power session going. just my personal experience

If the smoke is thin and harsh, generally more tobacco is needed. If its thick and harsh, and the draw is OK, its a humidity effect. Try more holes in the foil or switch to a screen.

Its thick and harsh. Ill try more holes and ill set it out to acclimate more. The longest Ive set it out exposed to open air is about 4 hours... perhaps this could be it. The one time it smoked well, I did no acclimation at all though. I think if I continue to toy with this flavor it will be on my own... my smoking buddies aren't so hip to the flavor anymore.

The weather might be changing at the same time it should be acclimating, its falling behind...for the first time in awhile, it actually sounds like an acclimation issue, to me. Blueberry has a very in-your face kind of composure when its in humidity shock...kinda spicy, a little nutty perhaps? You are stirring the tobacco and juice together real well...right?

Spicy sounds right. It kinda bites the tongue... before it burns the hell out of it. I stir the shisha plenty to get all the gooey juices coating the whole bag. Perhaps I shouldn't give up on this flavor just yet. Ill continue experimentation on my own until I can figure it out.
