Mathazar
This exact same question was asked not more than a month ago. Well, anyway, go to www.Hookah-Shisha.com and read their User Guide. That may answer your question. I would say, make sure you're using a charcoal that doesn't impart any charcoal flavor into your smoke, that can ruin the flavor for sure. Make sure everything on the hookah is airtight. Try smoking some tobacco from www.Hookah-Shisha.com. My favorites are: Romman Double Apple, Orange, and Strawberry. My favorite from the Romman line used to be Sweet Melon, but I lost the taste for it. For a longtime, though, I thought it was awesome! I mentioned Romman because it's extremely-flavorful tobacco. If you don't taste the Double Apple, then you're definitely doing something wrong, because that is a very strong flavor. While you're at Hookah-Shisha, if you place an order for tobacco, also order some Golden Coals. I've used them on many occasions, and they're supposed to be the best quick-light coal on the market. I find them odorless and they impart no charcoal flavor into the smoke. Hope that helps you out

dizzing
In addition to Mathazar's advice, which is spot on, just try cleaning your hookah and replacing the hose. If you have a washable hose, wash it. Make sure you replace the water in the base. If you don't have a washable hose, try cleaning out both ends thorougly with some pipe cleaners. I got an old metal hose from a friend that was disgusting and completely unsmokable (it clogged all the time and deposited several interesting things onto our tongues); cleaned it a few times (yes it takes some work) with pipe cleaners in the ends, and now it is like a brand new hose (well, almost ). If you follow both this and Mathazar's advice, then you are guranteed a flavorful, wonderful smoke assuming you set everything up decently well. No hard feelings, of course. -Z
