Lord Dorian
here is a way to find out if you have a truely clean hose. Only attempt this with a mya or other wasable hose. First run hot water trough the hose for about a minute, then drain it out and hold both ends of the hose and hit it against a door frame or other suitable surface several times. Now, fill it with hot water and close both ends with your fingers, then compress the hose into as tight a ball as you can, let it expand and repeat. After, run hot water again and see how clean your hose really was.

I checked their site, and only two of the ones they sell have the term "washable" in the product description, so to be on the safe side I ordered them, but there were some that I would prefer on the site that were more aesthetically appealing, and if they too are washable I may go back for more. The non washables I received with my hookah are starting to get a but gross from daily use.

I can only figure MYA hoses are washable because 1.. they use plastic rather than metal rings 2.. they use stainless steel rings?JD
Scarecrow
Its possible the mya wire is coated or something, but it does eventually rust. I have had about 3 hoses rust on me so far.
rattler
I read somewhere that they use galvanized metal in their hoses...If that's true or not I do not know.
kram
i just cut up my hose, will post a pic up soon of wat it looks like inside. basically these are the layers ouside in, pleather, plastic wrap then the metal rings. they rust, and their not stainless steel. the prob is with the QT water does inevitably go up into the hose, i put the water lvl an inch below the part where it dips down. the water gets in ans stays there prety much rusting ur hose. wat i do is after i smoke my qt i straight away just a vacuum cleaner to suck all the ambient water out of the hose. camelflage
best way to clean a hose is run a little bit of rubbing alcohol through it, swish it around some, then take an air compressor and blow the hose out. hang it up for a few hours and you are good to go.
