sambookamax
I am not liking the myas, I have a QT and absolutely HATE the stem, with a passion! I am very close to being in the market for a new hookah, and my experience with the QT has ruined my opinion of myas.

I really wouldn’t let one product detour you from buying another Mya pipe...
zoddi
That's what tends to happen with most glass I've come across. Pyrex has the ability to withstand that. Did it happen right when you used really hot water? Or did you quench it with lukewarm/cold water right afterwards? That would be recipe for breaking glass
aronparsons
Give it a day and see what they have to say. I've read stories from people on here that had vases break a year after buying a Mya and they were replaced free of charge; they're one of the most reputable manufacturers discussed on this board. Bleeding_Heart1
Mya replaces anything for free that is malfunctional. Call them. They will make you happy.
unleashtheclown
mya replaced my stem on my hookah after I had it for a year and the threads broke, so im sure they'd have no problem replacing a base for a qt Edited January 11, 2007 by unleashtheclown

I've had my QT for about 6 months and it is the best hookah i have ever owned. But i guess everyone entitled to their opinion.
SanguineSolitude
what other hookahs have you owned? im not overly impressed with my QT though its not a bad pipe.I do think MYA is a bit overrated here. though still good pipes

kram
they said they wld replace it no problem. their gonna send it to singapore as well! the response was incredibly fast. i am very satisfied with their service
Jeff_T
Thats awesome they'll replace it, as they should, but its definitely strange. The only reasoning I could see behind that happening would be rinsing/soaking it in cold water, then rinsing immediately after in hot water. Good luck with the new base. looloopoopie
I did something similar to a baking pan once -- took the pan out of the oven, took out the bread, put the pan into some cool water in the sink, heard an interesting noise, then - oh look, the pan's broken clear in half.Glad to hear they're replacing the base. Buying another one and then getting it shipped to Singapore would have cost you a pretty penny. Edited January 11, 2007 by looloopoopie

I really wouldn’t let one product detour you from buying another Mya pipe... It is just my opinion...The QT stem is VERY porous, and like a cave inside, making cleaning hard to acheive. If the other MYAs are like that, I have no interest in them...I want my next hookah to have a stainless steel tube, that I can clean with a gun cleaning kit or something!? (I believe you use a tubba cleaning kit?)
kram
i tend to use a toothbrush to clean the insides, it clears the smells and all tht right out. i reckon tradition well made pipes are still hard to beat though
