Nexter
I'm pretty new to hookah, been smoking in various bars and only once outside of a bar in a friends yard. Me and my friends just pitched in to get one that is going to primarily be in my apartment. I was just wondering, since i've never really smoked inside except for at the abrs but those are dark and ahrd to really see, what will the smoke levels be in my apartment? I mean, I don't really mind, and it's going to be close to a window but I just want to make sure if I haev a few friends over smoking it, that my room or apartment won't get completely smoked up, or whats the deal with that?sry for this newb question but I figured this is the best place to ask, thx. Erica
The room will never get the Smokey.. I have five hookahs going in my living room, that were being smoked constantly and the room didn’t ever reach a point were it was too bad…. We were actually trying to make the room smoky.. and we couldn’t do it…I wouldn’t worry about it all the much… especially if its by a window…
Nexter
ah sweet, arg, and I actually have one more question, I'm gonna be using quick lighting coals and I read on a random site that you should light the quick light coals outside, but since I live in an apartment on the 11th floor, that would be kinda complicated, does it matter? or can i just light it inside?? thx
Erica
I dunno why you would have to light them outside.. they do spark a little.. so I would suggest lighting them over the stove...... Make sure they are red all the way through....You might want to look into getting some Jap coals.. You can just throw them on the stove and they will light.... They are better. They don't smell as bad, they last longer..
OPR234
I light mine inside all the time over the stove. The only thing to remember is to keep the oven fan on when you light em, otherwise your kitchen will smell like gunpowder.
Hokis
I'm pretty sure it won't get smokey if you're doing hookah, it'll be alright
Jeff_T
I wouldn't worry about the smoke at all, it dissipates quickly. With the quick lights I could see lighting them outside from the smell and once in a while they tend to "pop" or explode. I've lit one, been blowing on it, have it explode and hit me in the forehead. Luckily no burn or bodily damage, but made me jump. If you do light it inside, may want to put it in a coffee canister or something while it lights and then set it on the stove to get completely red. art_official
the smoke lingers, and then dissolves ( ithink becasue the earth likes hookah)as for quicklites i lite them with a bic lighter for about 5 seconds over the ash tray on the hookahit sparks and smokes for about 15 seconds and then glows for glory and your set.you wont regret smoking inside, it makes all the difference with your tricks.plus climate plays a big part on effects on tobacco but thats a whole notehr thread
Zerodynamic
man, I tried hotboxing a motel room last night.. all i got was a slight haze in front of the tv.. then it went away after 10 minutes. As for the coals, I lit them in a corner of the room, and it didn't smell up the rest of the room. the gunpowder smell went away after 5 min. It makes getting them going so much faster than a stove.
cypherkk
I have, in my old living room, gotten a chest level smoke haze even smoking by myself with sliding glass door open 1-2 foot. It disperses pretty rapidly after stopping smoking.
