speel
I see the reviews and people talking about starbuzz. But what I really wanna know is , is it worth $20 for 250gram tub of it? I don't know about any one else but ive never spent over 10 on 1 shisha. So is it really worth it?
xpimpitox
its up to personal choice. some flavors i do find are worth the price tag (sweet melon and peach) while others havent been so hot and i wanted my $$ back (pineapple!!!) it being at the price that it is i dont usually smoke it on a daily basis. i smoke starbuzz on occassion so it lasts longer. so i guess im gonna have to go with yes. art_official
pretty sure there is a section in the reviews for starbuzz...edit* http://www.hookahforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5357and yes it is worth the money at least once because it is quite the expireince (for most, some people dont like delicious tasting smoke)if you dont wanna front big bucks try looking in the trade sections for a reasonable trade Edited January 15, 2007 by art_official
Erica
I believe you can go to SocialSmoke.com and get a starbuzz package thingy..I thinks they come in 100g.. And you can choose up to five of them...I think. It's early, and I'm tired
Scalliwag
SB has extremely flavorful shisha. The best tasting overall I have had to date. Extremely consistent. A little goes a long way especially in a phunnel bowl. I buy mine locally but I was thinking online with the forum discount it comes in around $16?People say the same thing about the price of a phunnel bowl or a smiley bowl but there are differences that do make those products stand out. Unique and pleasurable. A good steak is going to cost more than a hamburger. When I am scarfing on a great steak there is a sense of gratification, to me at least But rarely is a hamburger going to get much of a rise. The way I look at it a can of SB will last me a LOT longer than a lot of great steaks I have had and for less money too. The cost of pleasure is all relative. mellamobunny
i've had trouble with starbuzz and the phunnel. tangiers was no prob, but that was to be expected. also. i bought my phunnel a while back, so no mod. any tips?
amir22
Starbuzz used to be my brand of choice until I tried Fusion. Fusion's exuberant choice of flavors and the experience as well (lots of smoke, long lasting flavor, etc) finally won me over, and aside from that Starbuzz and Layalina apparently have some sketchy business practices. Not only that but it's like $16~ not including shipping from hookahcompany.com for 250g. As to whether or not price is worth it, yes, I was quite weary of dishing out $16 for a couple tubs of Fusion but in the end, it is called premium for a reason. Tangs does better without the mod, but Starbuzz only works with it. I am playing with another idea and a regular bowl and the results rocked. I really think the idea will be even better with Tangs because it seems in effect the same principal. I know that sounds confusing but it will make sense when you see it. It works better for personal sessions. Saves a metric buttload of shisha. I just tried SB Whitegrape so far.As of right now from personal experience though, I love my phunnels (med and small) more than any bowl I have had so far. These rumors about Starbuzz and Layalina are just that, simply rumors. I know all the people and companies in question personally, the real owner of Layalina that lives in Dubai, the exclusive US importer of Layalina, and the owner of Starbuzz and we have done business with them for quite some time. I can out of first hand knowlege guarantee that all baby seals are safe around these companies and individuals. There is nothing to be worried about. Scalliwag
Camel, the other white meat from the other side of the world! That'll teach the bastages not to spit aye??? I mean ARRRR!!!! I vaguely remember talking about doing it monthly... but everything as the night went on that night got very vague courtesy of Shinerbock. hehe!!! I say we plan another. I will start the thread to cover details. You have to bring those new bowls bro!!! Oh, and bring the rest of the gang from SS. I can't remember your brother's name that came to the taste test? But he is cool. Tell Mark he will be happy to know that we fenced off another area of the back yard to keep the dog off of him HA!!!

fizzgig
Getting back on topic; as far as I'm concerned Starbuzz is NOT worth the money. I've only tried two flavors... chocolate strawberry and strawberry kiwi. The strawberry kiwi can best be described as eh... flavorless. Chocolate strawberry was better but by no means the mouthwatering experience I would expect from a $20 tobacco. There are other cheaper brands out there with better longevity and flavor quality. I taste tested these two flavors out with a group of ten people over the holidays. Everyone was disappointed. It is my opinion that if you're going to charge that much for a can of tobacco at least 5 out of ten people out of a testing group should be impressed. At least! I mean...c'mon! Scalliwag
I have not tried those flavors so I dunno about them. I do know that Peach, Marlette, White Grape, and some others I was too drunk to remember what all we smoked at that party we had in October, but out of 15 or so people everybody like SB. Everybody there was pretty hardcore hookah smokers too. Try Peach, if you don't like it send me the rest. I will gladly PayPal you the money to cover it and shipping.
