Jones
My roommate once (foolishly) purchased these in a hurry, not noticing it wasn't in fact TK, since the boxes look so damned similar. You can tell they're cheaper, they're easier to break, leave a bit more dust, little things, but as far as smoking, the fumes during the initial lighting were...different. It also lasted about 5-10 minutes less than TK usually does (anywhere from 35-50 minutes, for me). Not horrible, but personally, I just found them shady overall. high_society
I tried these, wrote a review under quicklights. They wouldnt light at all, I didnt mean to buy them out of quick glance thought they were kings. Here is the review QUOTE (high_society @ Jan 15 2007, 03:17 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>High Society Review3 CROWNS QuicklitesEasy to light? not at all I had to hold a light under it and had to touch every single side of the coal and it still wouldn't light all the way.Smell: I got a slight smell from it, like the magnesium(or whatever gets them going) but it wasnt much since it wasnt lighting.Taste: I didnt get this far. It wasnt hot enough to smoke from.Ash: This thing started to crumple when I was taking it off the bowl. Like the taste, didnt get far enough with it.Overall: Horrible light, this thing started to crumble right away. When I was taking it off the bowl it crumbled a little and landed on my leg, yeah. Im lucky I was wearing jeans. I bought these things out of a quick glance and thought they were 3 kings, I was wrong. Because they at least got the coal to look like a quick light and it did start to light I give them a 2/10. But I wont be using the rest of the roll and wont be getting them again. I suggest all of you to look closer when you purchase, dont make the same mistake I did. Edited January 16, 2007 by high_society
DizzyGuy
I've ONLY heard negative things about these. I'd advise to stay away.
tlmasonaea
Yep, I used them for a while because I thought they were 3K and bought them. They're horrible, don't buy them.
HookahETC
Does anyone use Natural coals...instead of quicklites? If so, any suggestions?

Don't use Kinsford or briquettes, the pieces should look like black chunks of tree.
