EvansLight
For those around the D/FW area, some might know of this hookah bar. Jasmines is off of 75 and Main St. in i think Richardson. Those who have not been there in a while really need to go there soon. They have upgraded ALOT since my last visit. They have all new selections for smoking at the lounge, such as starbuzz, and custom house blends. They also have a whole lot more stock, and much better stock for sale as well. From the looks i know i saw alot more Layalina, i didnt get a close look, but i think i saw Al Almir as well. Of course tons of starbuzz. At the counter they also have glass bowls, which i think they have had for a few months, cause i think they had that on my last visit. On there wall-o-hookah stuff, they now have a whole rack for accesories, such as tongs, bowls, cleaning kits, and much much more. I also saw more MyaSaray hookahs sittin up top, some very nice ones from the look of it.But the biggest addition, was on the middle row, spanning at least a good 4-5 shelves worth of space, were all diffrent kinds of hookahs sittin in hard cases. Yea this got my attention the most. I didnt get to peer into any of the cases, too busy smokin me some SB Marlette but i know i saw a few Myas, the rest where a very familar brand, who i have confirmation will be having em in the coming weeks/months. But i dont know if they want that info released so ill just say it made me drool a bit As for jasmines prices, there still alright, but the service at times can suck ass, and others it can rock. Depends really on when you go. We where there for about 1 1/2 hours and never got a new coal. Thankfully the one we got on each lasted. I think the other hookah was loaded with Al Waha, since we just ordered straight peach, so i think they still serve al waha as well, it was the regular price of about $9, and the starbuzz was $18.99. Not too horrid, but its still cheaper to smoke at home..... But i have no coals XD

HookahETC
Dude looks pretty sweet! Do they serve food there too? Or just drinks and hookahs?Any chance that you know the square footage haha? And Yes, I totally agree...comfortable couches is a must...I can see from the pics that those are being put to good use
camelflage
just drinks and hookahs, there is a law in NC (at least buncombe county) that says if you serve food you have to have so much square footage of kitchen and then you have to devote like 55% of your floor space to tables for food serving. we did, however, allow people to order delivery to the place if we liked them.as far as square footage, i will ask Joe to give me an exact number but im thinking it is somewhere around 1400. HookahETC
Oh thats not bad at all! I thought it would be in the 2k range...thanks so much for the info. I really appreciate it.Do you guys have an age limit to who can walk in? 18 and above...or becase you serve alcohol, its 21 and above?
camelflage
21+ unless we know the person. on special occasions we instituted wristbands/hand markers to denote people so there was no chance of selling alchy to the kiddies.
HookahETC
Yea thats good.Im trying to push my dad into it. I know of a few great locations...near some schools that are in DESPERATE need of a hangout/chill spot.I wanna do shit like pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers...you know simple foods that can be done quickly. Not too sure if I want to do alcohol...there is alot of obligation that comes with that.how do you charge for hookahs? most from what i hear charge like $10.00 for the first bowl, and $3 for refills or some sort of combo like that. Some are cheaper...like $7.00 for the first and $3.00 for the second. I figure that might be something that could work...but to make things easier...I was think a $15.00 cover charge...and you can smoke all you want. Of course additonal for foods and drink. What do you think?
hmpitags2006
It might as well just be the Dallas People cause Richardson is way too far away. I wish they would open one up closer to Fort Worth for when I go back to my parents over breaks and what not.

camelflage
we did $8 for the first, $6 after. no limit to people or time spent with a bowl. each bowl lasted about an hour for 4 people, but less if people were trying to suck an antidote out of the thing. most people coming into the bar were only gonna smoke one or two at the most anyway, and split between a bunch of people thats not too bad. every day from 6pm-8pm is half price hookahs, and tuesday is ladies smoke free. if you dont want to do alcohol you can drop the age requirement to 18 and draw a lot of people from the schools, a whole market we didnt even really tap at all. $15 cover and smoke free sounds nice, but i know most people will scoff at that since most people dont know enough about it to be willing to drop $15 to try somethin out. on the flip side someone like me would come in and smoke 10 bowls and that would pretty much negate the cover charge if i didnt eat anything while i was there. i can see a lot of people, especially college students, not going for the cover charge since a group of 4 would have to smoke $60 worth of bowls (at $10 first $3 second thats about 17 bowls) to make it worth their while as opposed to splitting the cost of a couple.foodwise you want to be careful how much greasy food people are eating with their fingers, because that will move over onto your furniture and your hookahs for sure. i know when we used to have pizza delivered to the lounge, we would break out a mountain of napkins and even some wet-wipes so we didnt get stuff all over the hoses. HookahETC
Yea ctually...the $15 cover charge is just up in the air.I was thinking of making a roof terrace specifically for the food area. Down here in Houston you can do that...there are alot of codes you have to pass, but Im going to school to be an architect...I have my ways.So with a roof terrace...its basically a huge ass patio with tables and chairs (tables with umbrellas) and if they want to eat...they can either go up to the roof...or the the patio in the back (plan on building a wood deck type of patio for smoking and for eating) This way the dirty hands...stay outside haha.I think I'd probbaly go with $10.00 First bowl, and $3.00 for the bowls afterward. Our main target will be the highschool and college kids...The only thinng im worried about is, I dont want it to turn into some type of hangout for the "darn kids" (according to the older folks) and me getting complaints, etc. I want to be able to attract the older crowd too, ya know? They are our customers, so I might be biased, but I have been to Byblos a few times and have been less than impressed to say the least. Even if you don't smoke, both Cafe Medi and Narah Cafe have excellent food and are nice restaurants you can take a family or your friends to.
