NERV
for multiple ppl, either a multiohose rotator or one of those syrian multihose with the autoseal, personally i dont like multihose as the tobacco lasts less and has a tendency to burn more, but ppl seem to be happy with the syrain autosealers
dmitri926
Thanks for the reply.. yeah i thought multihose hookahs wouldnt be as great as single hose. Btw, which hookah would you recommend to get? Or which hookah do most people like..?
NERV
i would reccomend probably a single rotator, easy to pass, wide mouth base easy to clean since ull be clenaing more with multiple people, i would be careful tho as there are alot of bootleg rotators, i would say the 2nd best would be the acrylic hookahs, from hookah-shiahsa.com they are made by mya one of the best brands, very solid, very airtight, they are recognized by the ball shape at the bottom of the stem instead of the normal cone shape
Mathazar
www.hookah-shisha.com Look under Syrian Hookahs for the triple hose Syrian Glyph, or any multi-hose Syrian from that company would do just fine. The difference between these hookahs and other multi-hoses is that Hookah-Shisha's Syrians have the "Auto-Seal System". Go read up on it and you'll see what I mean. I bought a 30" Syrian Glyph, and next to my single hose rotator, it's the best hookah I've ever owned. Also, you get bundled with your hookah lots of accessories. Not a bad deal
NERV
math, are the valves able to disassemble and clean? those bearings can pretty grimey
NERV
the mod hookahs on hookah-shisha are all made by MYA, good stuff, personally i would go for something smaller as it would be easier to clean, i will never get another hookah above 25 inches, but thats just my prefrence. i dont know if the glass bases for the abyss are the same as the the ones used in the classic egyptians, but if they are i wouldnt reccomend it because my 30 inch classic , the glass base was broken by the cleaning brush, how weak is that? for durability and realiability i would reccomend an acrylic base, the glass ones just look prettier. Mathazar
I talked with Sami over at Hookah-Shisha, and he said that the ball bearing doesn't need cleaning, but that if you feel you want to clean it, yes, it is removeable. You simply unscrew the hose stem which then reveals a small metal ball sitting in it's chamber. You may need a piece of scotch tape to remove it, otherwise you'll have to turn the hookah upside-down in order to remove the metal ball. You may find a nice smal hookah over at www.saharasmoke.com, they've got some nice stuff. Personally, I didn't like the Mod Abyss Hookah. It just seemed really cheap in it's construction. I second what NERV said about getting a one hose rotator. It's a pure joy to use, and with plastic mouthguards, you can easily pass the hose around the table with friends. I would say a good 22" hookah would be a fine size for a rotator.
NERV
what didnt you like about the abyss? the ball bearing deinitely need occasional cleaning, the valve in my 30 inch, if the ball ever sticks that means it needs to be cleaned
NERV
i mean, you mentioned the construction, but what seemed cheap about it? i heard they are solid instead of the usual hollow ones
Jon12
I think my 26" mya acrylic tends to smoke a bit better than my buddies 4 hose rotator. It's really nice having 4 hoses when we have a party and more than 3 people will be smoking. If 3 people or less are smoking then the single hose works well. Mathazar
NERV, I made a mistake, it's not the Abyss that I thought was cheap in construction, it was the Odyssee. Maybe it's just my personal tastes, but I just like a good solid stainless steel and glass hookah. I'm just not into those acrylic hookahs. atrombom
Math, i'm strongly considering buying a glyph from hookah-shisha and i was wondering about the stem. Do you know what metal its made of and how are the hoses that come with it?

As far as the hose its pretty durable I got one about 6 feet or so and it works great. If you get the brass one, to keep it clean get some stuff to clean your silverware and stainless pots. I have use it on my wifes about every month and it looks brand new after each cleaning. I heard Brasso may be too harsh.
atrombom
anyone have experience with "bohemian glass" bases? They are prettier but i was wondering if they are any more durable?
