a while back i got a small amount of RedTea from Erica and loved ever bit of it. then a couple weeks ago i got a full 250g package of RedTea from hookahcompany but hadnt opened it till today. to my suprise the new package of RT smelled completly different than the stuff i got from Erica. i was just wondering if you, Sonthert, had changed the flavouring to RT recently? just wondering? it still smells delicous but it is distinctly different. it might even be that it is just way stronger because i have a full 250g.

any way. any input would be helpful!

No changes. Differences in humidity will affect the tobacco. Flavors in humidity shock may tend towards light or burnt flavor.

Also, a larger amount/container will allow more vapor molecules to hit your nose. Smells are dictated by a flux model.

thanks for the reply. it seems that i got a batch that is way too over flavoured. it is basicly soapy and tastes a little like meat instead of the sweet red tea. i can telll the flavour is there but it is 100X more powerful. any suggestions as to how to decrease the flavour to get it less soapy or am i stuck with a dud batch?

If I were you I would let it acclimate and give it another try. Can't hurt right?

when i tried it, it had already acclimated for 24hours in a controlled enviroment (ie. in my house) where i also smoked it. so the acclimation was not the problem. it is the extreme amount of flavouring that makes the tabacco soapy and taste like meat. it is very strange

Hmmm. If its colder in the room, the water will absorb less flavor. Making it stronger. Try warm water in the jar...see if that changes it back to what you expect. If you want, you can send it back to me and I'll try it and see what I think. Send me a PM, if ya want, I'll replace it.
